Hey. Sounds like you are using some kind of dual-view or extended desktop via the computer for video. This may sometimes be a problem. If you can see the desktop but no video using the projector it is not a projector problem. It is probably your grapic card och software problem.

Try different setups in the graphic cards settings, like the projector as primary monitor etc. That usually solves the problem.

Cannot find the source

Hi,

Try lowering your laptop's screen resolution and refresh rates to the lowest possible.

Additionally, you need to press Fn + F? keys on the laptop to cycle on laptop display, laptop display + external; display, external display.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Good morning. for some reason my projector

good morning. my BenQ PB6240 Projector was working fine with my Mac Powerbook Laptop last week and this week the screen shows a searching display for the S-Video connection. The S-Video cords are all plugged in properly, and would not show up when connected to a dvd player as well. Is this projector more compatible with Windows computers? And has there been reports of S-Video connections malfunctioning?

VGA Problem

This sounds like a driver or software issue. Check Dell's support site for any projector related drivers or software, and also check the projector manufacturer's site for drivers or software. You might also look for any Windows media player updates.

Media player movie picture won't display

Yes, I have the same problem with a Dell Inspiron 700m laptop. I have never been able to show videos using two seemingly compatible devices. This is not a projector issue however, as my projector displays video DVD fine from this PC, only videos inserted into PowerPoint will not play. Using another computer it works fine. Imagine that, Dell selling two highly practical devices that are not compatible.
