2004 pontiac montana..had loose grd screw on batt..loosed support bar for fuse box and moved aside while tightening .now no inst working. radio is locked out..runs well..

Either pulled wire loose or blew fuse. At least you know area to look for loose wire. Find wiring diagram and the find color of wire for instruments that will narrow your search.

I put a 80-81 Cdi on a 82 xlh, runs but backfires should I advance or retard

probably retard it a bit but I don't think it is the timing
You say it runs and backfires but if the timing was too far advanced it would backfire on starting and be difficult to start
I suspect the fault to be electronic ---like a loose wire on the coil , faulty coil, faulty ignition control module, loose wire at ignition switch, loose ground wire , loose ground wire on battery
look for something that is making and breaking contact at random as that action induces a spark at the wrong time

While running a cleaning program it turned off and won't power up

You may have a loose power wire down in the electrical box on the dishwasher. Sometimes the wire nuts come loose if they are not securely fully. A loose wire may give it enough power to light the control panel and when the water valve turns ON the amperage increases, then the wires will push apart. This is because the two loose wires become magnetically similar poles and push apart. I have fixed many dishwashers by turning OFF the power to the dishwasher. Removing the lower kick panel opening up the electrical box, then removing the wire nuts, then reattach the wires together with the wire nuts again. Turn ON the power and see if the washer now works. If it does, then reassemble the dishwasher.

If this does not work, then you may have a loose wire connection in the control panel.

My compresssor keeps tripping the breaker>

Loose wire in panel box or loose wire around compressor. any loose wire causes a high amp draw which blows the breaker. I've found wires that look good but are loose. Go right to the compressor outside and check there first. pull disconnect first and make sure there is no power. you either have a shorted compressor or loose wire. if you ohm out compressor with power off and disconnect the three wires you will get something like wire to other wire 2 ohms... same wire to other wire 3 ohms... other two wires you should get 5 ohms...2+3=5 good compressor.they will add up to each other.

Yoy can jump the truck off, but wile you are

It is probably a loose ground wire. If it only does it while hitting bump, then there is a loose wire somewhere. It may be loose fuse but probably loose wire or solder joint going to dash control board
