SOURCE: Printing problem with HP Laserjet P2015 printer

This can be an issue with one of the faulty sensor across the printer.
Please check if you are able to print from tray 1, e.g. a configuration page.
A config page can be printed by holding the Green Button and releasing it as soon as the Triangle light comes on. This would take approx 5 secs.
If the printer is able to print from tray 1, then it could be an issue with the tray 2 pickup sensor.
Check if the tray 2 pickup sensor ( a black plastic piece to the right of the tray 2 pickup roller) is moving freely (front and back), also check if tray 2 pickup roller is not able to rotate completely.

If the tray 2 sensor is not moving freely and of the pickup roller is rotating completely, then reseat the pickup roller.

Normal use with good media causes wear resulting in the need to periodically clean or replace the pickup roller. Additionally, the use of poor media might require more frequent replacement of the pickup roller. Replacing the pickup roller Complete the following to replace the pickup roller:

CAUTION: Failure to complete this procedure might damage the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and allow the printer to cool.

I just read that random dots being printed on the left side of all my documents means that i need to change the toner. I just changed the toner last week or the week before. Is this something that I call...

Hi

Well not often the problem is same, usually the toner cartridge will have 2 bins 1 is the hopper which holds the un-used powder and the other is the Waste toner bin which holds the waste powder. When it is full and there is no place to escape then the powder spills on the paper. But if this happens then you can just bang your toner lightly and in this was the air pockets in the powder is clear and spill will stop automatically.

Printer: HP Laserjet 1010 model Black dots appear on the paper

Dots, Lines and smudges on the printouts are due to deteriorating cartridges and cleaning the green drum of the cartridge may help temporarily. Take out the cartridge and gently clean the roller/ green drum with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth wiping off the toner dots marks/ lines.
Also, make sure that the visible inside of the printer is clean and ther is no spilled toner inside, which sometimes results in dots.
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Marks on printed sheet

Toner powder is so fine that it hides under parts that you can't see. By all means, DO NOT blow it out with canned air! Get a vacuum with a fine filter that can hold toner and remove the toner cartridge. Then vacuum out the inside of the printer as thoroughly as possible. Especially clean out along the paper path and where the cartridge goes in. It may still print a few dirty pages, but after several pages, it should go away.

You are spilling blue toner. Try to vacuum out the excess blue toner from the machine. Be careful not to scratch the transfer belt.
