Do you really want a cable? It'll probably be cheaper to get a card reader (if you don't already have one).

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. And a card reader will work with your next camera as well.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Thank you so much Kakima, I bought a reader (looks like a flash drive) and plugued it in the comoputer USB but, nothing appears on the screen. I also noticed that the little icon in the taskbar that tells you when it's ok to remove the reader, is not appearing either. Thank you so much for any additional help you can give me. :o)

How can I transfer pictures from a Nikon s3300 to a phone?

depends on the phone and if it has a USB style port and or SD card slot. If USB, then find a compatible cord and have the phone copy the files. If SD slot, then just copy from the card (may have to use a computer to make the copy first, them transfer to the phone)

The lens does not stay open long enough to pose picture. It closes.

These camera's will do that when the battery is very low sometimes.
I'm not sure that is your problem due to lack of more details, but it is a possibility.

How do I increase the dpi setting on my finepix S3300

DPI (dots per inch) is an output setting and is irrelevant as far as the camera is concerned.

Imagine you're taking a picture that's 2000 by 3000 pixels. At the time you take the picture, do you care how big you print it? When you get home and make a 4x6 print, you're printing at 500 dpi. If you make a 8x12 print, you're printing at 250 dpi. Either way, you're printing the exact same picture as taken by the camera. Since the camera doesn't know how big a print you're going to make, it simply puts in a default value for the dpi.

Nikon S3300 flashes the on/off button but I can't get it to shut off.

If you didn't switch off the camera before removing the card, you have probably corrupted the data on the card.

Lost my usb cable

I don't know in which country you live (this is helpful to know!), but in most stores offering cameras and many offering electronic items, you should be able to procure a kit of adaptors that will include a cable to use with them.
In the US at least, Wal-Mart, Best buy, Circuit City and Radio Shack are likely sources.
Elsewhere (?) you are on your own.

How to transfer video from camcorder to PC

The camera has two interfaces, the firewire or ieee-1394 for transferring video to the computer and serial interface (RS232) to transfer picture from the memory card to the computer. If you do not want to use either interfaces, you can buy cheap memory card reader (less than $10) to transfer the image from the MMC card to the PC via USB. If you want to transfer the video to PC and does not want to use the fire wile link, then you have to buy a video capture device (cheapest is less than $30)and connect to the video-audio output. I would recommend to use the firewire if you are intending to transfer the video.
