If you wiggle the screen and it comes back, then it is not your Video card. Probably just a loose connection with your LCD cable to the LCD screen. Although you may also need a new screen/cable.
The weird thing is that it "fades" out... which would indicate a bad screen to me.. but securing the cable is alot cheaper to try first.
Completely rule out your graphics card by connecting your laptop to an external monitor... if it works fine for a long period of time then your card is fine.
Good Luck.

This recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software
content that is installed when you purchase your notebook. Follow the steps
below to rebuild your C: drive. (Your C: drive will be reformatted and all data
will be erased.) It is important to back up all data files before using this option.
Before performing a restore operation, please check the BIOS settings.
1 Check to see if Acer disk-to-disk recovery is enabled or not.
2 Make sure the D2D Recovery setting in Main is Enabled.
3 Exit the BIOS utility and save changes. The system will reboot.
Note: To activate the BIOS utility, press <F2> during POST.
To start the recovery process:
1 Restart the system.
2 While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to
enter the recovery process.
3 Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.
Important! This feature occupies 10 GB in a hidden partition on
your hard disk.

re seat the memory cards, clean them if necessary with pencil eraser (the metal connector on mem card), if it won't work, you might need to replace them with the new ones

Welcome and thank you for using fixya.
Hidden harddrive or partition are usually alloted for factory restore software. This software will restore your computer to original factory state without using the recovery disk. In order for you to find if you hve one in your computer. All you need to is to go to computer management then go to disk management. The easiest way to get there is by clicking the start menu then type in under start search or run bar this compmgmt.msc then press enter.
All the best!
