SOURCE: AELFCHECK Problem with Panasonic DVD Recorder
Hi
This problem is associated with a regulator on the power board. It's an easy fix if you can use a soldering iron.
If not you may be able to get someone to repair it for you. I have posted instructions on how to replace the defective component.
Please note the instructions I have given refer to the DMR E55 but the E95H is much the same.

I figured out, unlike all the other posts, you don't have an enter button. But Instead, you would hit the 2 and OK button at the same time for a few seconds. I had the RC1 message and I did the 1 with OK and it worked. so if you have RC2, you should hit the 2 and OK. Should work!!

Your player and recorder are, most likely, on different codes. Press and hold ENTER and 2 on the remote for at least two seconds and you should be home and dry!
Good luck!

My Panasonic DMR-E85H also had the frozen "Please Wait" problem.I found this site and followed the instructions regarding replacement of the C1270 and C1271 capacitors with Radio Shack 1000uF 35V radial-lead capacitors (model 272-1032) @ $1.59 each. Took about 30 minutes plus the time to get the parts. Keep in mind that my husband and I have never done anything like this before. We followed all the posted instructions and the our Panasonic DMR-E85H works great now. Many thanks to everyone who posted these solutions and especially RandyChev for the great pictures. - What a life saver.

My remote is not working. When I press a button, I get the following message on my unit: U12, U30, SET #, CHK REMOTE #, or RC #. What can I do to fix this? The message displayed means that the remote control and unit are not communicating and the remote needs to be programmed. To program the remote, press and hold the same number that is displaying on the unit and the [ENTER] or [OK] button for more than 2 seconds. For example, if the unit displays “SET 2”, press and hold [2] and [ENTER] or [OK] for more than 2 seconds.
