Poor quality printing on smaller designs - Roland VersaCAMM SP-540V

Several checks:
- Just saying...Ribbon sometimes is placed in the wrong sense and it doesn't print.
- Verify the settings at printer driver. Download a powerful Driver from here: http://www.nicelabel.es/downloads/nicelabel-designer-pro/?uid=10004, and test the darkness option by printing with different measures at each time.
- If that doesn't work, we can check it again, but you should first test this options.

Can you add a picture of poor quality?

if your printer is printing poor quality photos i would recommend changing out the ink cartridges and probably getting a new hd printer

You do not say what exact model of printer you are using so any answer will be generic rather than specific.

Poor colour and black tone can be as a result of various factors:
1. Poor paper quality that you are printing on.
2. Poor ink or toner quality being used.
3. Use of Ink / Toner saving modes or software.
4. Worn or damaged printer components such as the fuser roll on a laser printer and other similar consumables with a limited page use life.
5. Poor quality content being printed, i.e. low quality images being printed at too high a print resolution.

It need not be the case due to a low ink level in the smaller cartridge but if there is a problem with the printing head this can be a suspect. So try and use a good head cleaning then reset the printer driver software after un-installing and reinstalling before the printer is connected once again.
If this wont solve the ink cartridge must be changed to have a last try before the head is doubted. .

The print quality of dat matrix printers depends upon the printer ribbon. If the ribbon is old or worn out then the print will be very light. In this case replace the ribbon.
Dot matrix printers are very old technology and I suggest you get a Inkjet printer or a laser printer.
Dot matrix printers cannot match the print quality of Inkjet and laser printers.

I am a computer dealer in Perth and had to replace 5 of these printers out of my pocket. There is no fix and Samsung was very unfair and refused to replace these shoddy printers. Colour printed fine but black is faded.
It makes no difference if original toners or compatible ones are in use.
Samsung is very unprofessional in refusing to replace these printers with an inherent design fault.

Download zebra setup utility and use it to configure print quality.

PDFs are designed to print using Postscript language.
The problem will occur with any non-Postscript printer. You can get better results on Windows printers by clicking on the "Advanced' button in the Print dialogue window. Then check 'Print as Image'.

This has worked well for me.

Your problem is inside the vacuum hose where they have installed a small coiled hose that carries water to the smaller power head for upholstery. After taking this apart I found the inner smaller coiled hose was broken at 2 different places. A very poor design and poor quality material. The hose looked like it was rotted. This could be from old detergent left in the line or maybe the wrong detergent. A job to get it apart but if you remove the three screws that hold the side plate over the electrical you can block that hose off and the machine will work on floors only as the water to the power head is terminated.
