I've got white speckles on the projector. it continues to increase as the day goes by. Now the projector hardly stays on for more than 5 minutes before loosing color and shutting down with the indication that the bulb is already overheateing.

there are a lot of dust on the Lcd panel
3 panels (red ,blue,and green) in the Projector
purple speckles means that the dust on the Green ,
1,pick the Lcd prism from the projector
2,clean it by putting it into water,with some cleaner
3,dry it with a hair dryer
4,ok

1,the color starts to go out, it become the white and black ,
2,then,the projector running off after only a few minutes,
it is a general issue:the inductor need to be cleaned
Use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol to clean the inductor.
the inductor (Sensing element),is near to the Color Wheel.
the industor : is a black little element,as little as a sesame seed

fan going bad lamp want stay on

Have you considered checking the lamp? It could be going bad.

That is a definate Mainboard replacement.

Must warn you that it could turn out to be a expensive exercise

ok..try to long press the power button to refresh the settings..

I had a similar sounding problem. When I opened it up I found that the segmented color wheel was missing the clear segment of glass. I have not been successful finding parts for it.

It may be overheating, check fans and or obstructions of the vents
