I have a problem on my Toshiba Tecra S1 Laptop, Suddenly it stopes working, The main problem is the power indicator front lamp showed the electricity is plugging and the machine also turned on while their is no any display on the screen. I thought that the problem is on the screen and then I used to turn on with external monitor but still the same no change. What I surprise, the same problem is happened on the other two Toshiba Tecra S1 Laptops. So,I thought that the problem is very series. And it might be factory defect. check the cpu sometime the lock is not closed enough ,,, and check the rams did replace them will ? ,,, check the cable connecting the monitor to the motherboard ...

Sounds like the display panel needs to be replaced or least likely the video inverter is bad

the flex of your is either getting weak or it has shifted from its original location.. the flex is what connects the screen to the panel of the laptop and when it has a problem you experience lines on your screen..

what you should do is to open up your laptop and try to set the flex to its normal position and see if it stops the lines on your scree, if it doesn't then you have to change the flex

if you cant open your laptop,get someone with experience to help you

It has a memory problem, take the laptop to your local store and ask if they will test the memory for you, if it is the problem then you will have to purchase a new memoy module.

This could be coz of three possible reasons, the connector cable problem, RAM got damaged or the LCD is damaged. Try removing ram and start the computer again, if u will see something on the screen, u should replace the RAM, if this does'nt work, u have to take the computer to the service center to check the connector cable or LCD, hope this is helpful

this is due to the bios problem. check for bios update from service provider then press fn+esc+power button when light start blinking put your pen drive in the usb port after 1 -2 min, it boots up . that files are like flashget etc.

Where did you get your disk from? It sounds like you may have a bad install disk?

If you see a very dim image or black screen or flicking image on the LCD screen it means you have a backlight problem.

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.
