SOURCE: Continous Beeping sound

Hi neosw,

Could you provide a little more detail?

Was this a previously working set-up or is this a new build?

If this was a previously working set-up have you changed anything?

When you switch on the PC

  • do you see anything on the screen, does the monitor remain in standby?
  • are any of the fans running?
  • does the hard drive spin up?
  • does the beeping sound stop after a short while?
The reason I ask these questions is because a continues beeping usually means that the BIOS is not seeing the processor, or that the power to the processor is not correct. With some BIOS manufactures it can also mean the processor clock speed is not set
correctly.

Please don't take this the wrong way but...if you provide greater detail in your question, the easier it for us to diagnose your problem, otherwise we can only make educated guesses.

I hope this has been of some help.

Regards,

Spare head 2

SOURCE: continuous beep

I have looked up the code you describe. It is best is you go to the site and see for yourself. I am providing a link. You also might try removing all the cards except for the video to see if anything changes.

Product Name : Intel Motherboard Dg31gl Type : Mother Board Problem : 3 beeps continously then space then sham four then space again space again its repeating d same give me any solution

Replace the processor. The 3 beeps means its the processor at fault..
continuous beeps with space in between means its the rams.. No beeps at all means its the clock speed.

from what your saying it sounds like the processor.

When starting up the computer, I get 5 short beeps then continous

These beeps seem to show that your system did not detect any RAM (memory) modules connected to it. Please check.

  1. Open the CPU case (turn the PC off first)
  2. Remove the RAMs from the slot.
  3. Turn ON your computer without the RAMs installed. Then observe if it gives the same beeps. If it is the same, then the RAMs might fail to register.
  4. Try to plug in carefully the RAMs in place. If you have 2 RAM modules, try to test 1 RAM at a time to see if the combination of the 2 mess up your system.

Mother board crash will not start

If it is a continous beep .... beep .... beep, then the RAM is the problem. It might be loose or the slot might be dusty. Try taking it out and changing the slot. If still the same problem, then try replacing the RAM with a new or borrowed one. If that works, replace the RAM.

If it is one long beep and 4 - 5 small beeps, then the display card (which is mostly onboard on your motherboard) might be faulty.

HTH,
