We updated our maps then after that the screen froze with the word Garmin on it, now nothing is working, I can't even get it to connect to our computer, any help would be appreciated cheers Maxine

you will need to install the usb driver which should be located on the 2008 disk. When you attach the gps to your computer it should ask where the usb driver is located. If your dvd drive is (D) click browse and go the disk and find usb driver folder. I have purchased the new 2008 disk and had problems with it freezing on loader loading. I then browsed the disk and downloaded and then was able to get to the maps. I did not install it due to it asking what map I want to download. I wanted the whole thing so needless to say I am taking it back to walmart. I hope this helps.

As far as I know Garmin maps are not free yet
I oaid 59 bucks for 2009 updates from circuit city
but they are going out business so you may have to get them like at best buy
or at garmin.com

Download and unzip the software, plug your garmin in the USB and start
the updater.exe program. It gets you started again. Later on you can
use the Webupdater to get possible newer software..
It worked for me and my Zumo550

The unit isn't frozen. If you tap the power button you will hear it beep and change screens. What has happened is your touchscreen has failed. This is a common problem.
