Xbox won't ready ANYTHING

We've had our xbox for not even two years now and for the past 6 months or more it reads discs randomly. In order to get anything to work the Xbox has to be re-opened and closed till it reads it. Furthermore lately it hasn't ready anything whatever we do.

This has happened to me today and many times in the past. What i did the first time is carefully check for any peices of dust or fluff on the disc,or just leave the xbox for a while then try again later. If none of these work then just take out the power cables and slowly blow into the disc tray to clean the laser as it may have some dust on it.

You can try using toothpaste. I've tried it several times and it has worked for me. Here's how you do it.
  1. Grab a bottle of toothpaste and your disc
  2. Put a good amount of paste on the disc
  3. Take a soft cloth and rub the toothpaste over the disc. Be sure to give it some pressure.
  4. Turn on a sink and wash the toothpaste off your disc
  5. Place disc in Xbox and enjoy

Clean the disc with a soft cloth FFXI xbox360

this is caused by the n November update in the MS xbox360 dashboard. This is a problem with the xbox communicating with the hard drive. This usually occurs in xboxs that are not using the HD shipped with the console. According to square the only solution to this common problem is that you reformat your hd and intsall the game again. yes, you have have to wait for that dl to finish. square also states that there is a possiblity that this may re-occur after the second install, though rare.

Unplayable disc support

Ive Answered A question Exactly Likethis..

So whats causing this problem eh?

Well this problem is down and due to your Xbox360 Because the Pressure magnet inside your Hard drive is Sticking to the game <-- basically the magnet is a holder inside your hard drive a little handy device that makes your game not fall so its Rumaging around in your Hard Drive Loose Thats why when people KNOCK down there Xbox360's when there up and ON with a DISC inside. Thats how they get SCRATCHED.

What tools do i need to fix this problem?? Read below.

You Need EITHER : A Credit Card
A Peice of strong Paper i.e thin card board
A Xboxlive Subscription Card

Either one of those things to do the job.

Step 1. Make sure THERE IS a disc inside your Hard Drive And Keep the DISC TRAY CLOSED.

Step 2. Point the Card Infront of your Disc Tray And Move it to the Left and Put it in the Gap. and Move it to the left and right abit. Basically Wiggle it about inside your Xbox. ** This Does Not Void Warrenty , Cause Disc Failure , Or Scratch Discs. **
Anything that does Break will be your own fault for not following Instructions.

Step 3. Once inside and you've wiggled it about for 2 - 3 minutes... It will Unloose the Magnet Causing your game to come undone and then you " EJECT THE GAME " I repeat " EJECT THE GAME " from the DISC Tray. and Place it back in. and start up the game and then it should get past Loading Screen etc. and Be fixed.

Now I cannot guarentie that this will stay like this for along time. so I suggest you get your Xbox Fixed VIA Warrenty If you still have 1year. if you Foolish People Brought yours off Ebay then I have a solution too.

Pop down to GAME and Sign up for there Unlimited Warrenty xbox360 for £50 - £60 a Month. or Year i carnt remember. It might be a year.
And Theyfix it for you.

And I suggest you ALL DO THE SAME! :)

Thanks For Reading this Solution. I do Very Hope this has helped you people.

Please Rate me Etc. :) Thanks

Hi,
xboxes are my speciality, spent about 2-3 years repairing them.
you,ll have a dirty or worn laser unit.
thats why it won,t read disks.
As for your other fault, regarding unloading.
this is the hard-drive, being 6 years old, it,s worn out.
Constantly read/writing Data. and the possibility of being full of dust. it,s had a great life.
