I have a Bernina Aurora 440 QE sewing machine with embroidery module with 4 hours on it. Bernina has just discontinued help to download v6 Art Link free to service Art Design embroidery software for the Art Design v1 which comes with my machine. I have a windows 7 computer. Earlier this year they said on their website to be patient for a download for windows 8 and they still had the download for windows 7. I had just bought a windows 8 so then I bought a windows 7 computer with a big screen for the embroidery machine. When I went back to Bernina site they had discontinues their windows 7 download and say they will not be servicing the embroidery software download for art design 1 or 2 or 3. My huge investment looks hopeless right now. I know many others are in the same situation. There are many of these sewing machines with embroidery modules out there for sale with low hours on them but are useless if there is no access to v6 download, which is necessary to buy and use the designs we have purchased (or would like to purchase) in the future. I had thought like others have that Bernina would always take care of their clients who purchased their products. Since this isn't the case is there anyone who knows if there is any way to be able to get the download v6 for the aurora 440 that Bernina use to furnish for free. I sincerely appreciate any help so I can use my Bernina

Bernina Artista 170 with embroidery module. Used a design card and embroidery one day and next day no designs. What has happened to the design?

Make sure the design cards are going into the machine's card slot correctly. The system might not be able to recognize the card's designs if it is inserted incorrectly.

I have a bernina 440 yesterday I used my embroidery unit all day. Today it won't write to the sewing machine. I only get a spinning spool of thread. What do I do?

Did it work ok yesterday? I would suggest completely unplugging it..from the computer, from the embroidery unit, and the wall plug in. Then, restart your computer and reload your design file. This won't hurt anything...and it may help! Good luck :-)

With embroidery card inserted into module, no motifs appear on the display screen.

Here are two other possibilities other than electrical problems with your Bernina. There are embroidery design cards that were made for the 200 & 730 that simply do not work in a 180. There is nothing marked on the card or the packaging that will tell you what model machine the card will work in. I sold a bunch of my design cards on eBay last winter and I tested all of them in both a 730 and a 180 before making the ad discription. I found that most of the design cards worked in the 180 & 730, but there were a few that only worked in the 730. So if your design card is one of those that won't work in a 180, that could be your problem.
You did not say if you have other design cards that do work or there is only one you tried. Possibly the card itself is bad.
A static shock to the card could possibly damage it.
So if you take your machine to a dealer to have it looked at, take your design card along.
The 180's memory for storing designs is located in the embroidery module, not the machine itself. If that memory is filled up with other designs this can cause a problem.
So your problem is most likely with the design card or with the embroidery module. Should you need to get another embroidery module, that module needs to be the same version number as your machine or it will not work. I have a. video posted on YouTube that shows you how to check the version number of your machine and module. That information is in my "Bernina check hours 165, 170, 180, 185" video. Put that in the YouTube search box and you will find my video. Plus I have other helpful Bernina videos posted.

Does the Deco 340 Embroidery Machine use .ART or .EXP?

According to the manual for the Bernette Deco 340, the machine only reads .EXP+ files. ART files need to be converted to the EXP file type using the Bernina Embroider Software. (Even the designs on the Studio Bernina CD need the ART files converted to EXP.)

The manual is available from the Bernina support site: http://www.bernina.com/en-US/Support-5/Machines-en/bernette-deco-en . The direct link to the manual is http://www.bernina.com/getdoc/c6cc51e0-d5e9-4cb1-a7be-f164c0f4fdff/deco340_EN_GZD . (Note: you will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to access the manual.)

I'm surprised that you were able to get any .art files to work until recently.

I hope this helps.

I have no software with my Bernina 440QE embroidery Module. What can I use. Also what is a dongle & does that come with the software

A dongle is a flash drive, but in Bernina's case it is a programed security device that prevents using their software other than with their products.

Once you get software with this device, take very good care of it as the replacement is expensive.

Other brands of software do not use this device.

Another issue with Bernina is the embroidery format. If it is Art you are stuck with Bernina software and designs as other formats cannot be converted to this particular format.

Bernina makes fine sewing machines, but the embroidery machines and software are not easy on the purse.

For the price of the software, you could buy a Brother embroidery machine that is user friendly and uses a format is is very popular and easy to find. No roadblocks when using software with this brand.
