Question about Kenmore HE2 Washing Machines
Model 110.46472500 1. Unit is POWERed on and wash cycle selected. 2. START button pushed. 3. ADD GARMENT light comes on, immediately followed by DOOR LOCKED light coming on. Both stay on. Wash cycle does not start.
IF you take the panel off the is below the door, there is a drain plug and you should take it out. YOU will get lots of WATER. Be ready. Clean this out and try again. The issue is most likely the water solenoid valve is bad or the board that controls it is bad. You can also find the tech sheet when you look for the drain. It has all the tests that you can run.

Check the pump first but you most in likley have a bad circut board. On the front of the washer their is a kick panel. Remove the 3 screws on the bottom and remove it. Taped on the inside is a book of codes and some self diagnostics you can run. This is all your repairman will do and he will order the circut board and charge you more than the washer is worth.

In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
