This usually means that the motor in the lens is being hindered. Was it dropped or hit hard when the lens was out last? The last time I encountered an issue like this it required the camera to be taken apart and looked over.
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Kodak said, this error may be caused by your batteries as they may be dying or simply
underpowered. High Powered NiMh are recommended by Kodak. You might want to check the link and think about it.

Sounds like we have the same problem but mine says lens error 221,0,0,0 and my daughter dropped mine. If i dont get an answer soon, im sending my in for repair, it will only cost me $50.00.
