Proview PL926WSi LCD monitor will not power up

Hi,

I have a Proview PL926WSi LCD monitor that will not power up at all.
Been working fine for over a year then all of a sudden turned itself off and now I cannot power it back on.  There is no power light when it is plugged in, nothing.   At first I thought maybe the power board went out on it and ordered a replacement from Proview parts department.  $65 later and I just tried to plug it in and still not getting anything, no power light , nothing.   Any ideas?

TIA

Yes I did test it on another PC.  I should stated that previously.
There is no power going to it that I can tell.

Do LCD monitor power light only come on if the monitor is connected to a PC?

I should add that I don't think it's the PC as another monitor works just fine on said PC.  Thanks

I Have a Gateway 900w with the same problem that you described....Cheap is not always better....After taking the junk Gateway LCD apart....the power supply had a blown capacitor....What do you do now? mmmm well time to trow it away and yes it is barely a year old, just enough to get out of warranty. Back to my original comment...even though you may not think it was cheap when you bought it....it is made very cheap. An ACER LCD comes with an 3 year Warranty and only cost about $189.99...so cheap made not cheap cost...

Try testing the monitor on another computer.

Press and hold the button, until the monitor turns itself off.
Then, turn it on, and hope that it works correctly.

Proview monitor PL926WSi Screen goes out after about 5 seconds

Hello Joe,

A red or pink coloration on the screen indicates bad backlight bulbs. They are just like standard fluorescent bulbs just much smaller. When they start failing they light up with a pink color and that will make the screen look pink or red. You can change them but it may not be worth the trouble. You can do a Google search for compact fluorescent tubes and check prices.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

its sound you have bad inverter chip. The I.C. "BIT3193G" is the main controller in the inverter circuit. This chips is a surface mount chip and you must be careful remove it or you can damage the board. Also have you check for any burn out transistor?

i would suggest getting a new monitor you might have made it overheat or your display driver failed.

ENERGY SAver is stuck on

I know it's an older post, but you still may be waiting an answer:
What is probably happening is Your power board is failing to maintain power enough to run the bulbs and the rest.
That is why it takes long to start up and why it goes into sleep mode.
Does the power button stay lit (getting signal) or turn to amber (sleep mode) or does it flash.

If the screen is pinkish chances are the panel is defective.Should follow-up with Company Proview and do some correspondence.

Same problem, and solution 1 given here fixed my Proview 900W. A few of the 470uF caps on the power board were oozing dielectric probably due to overheating. Hopefully the replacements will hang in there for a couple more years...
