Check to see if it's the light under the hood that stay's on when you close the hood. remove the light bulb and see if it still drains. The other places would be the light over the visor and light in the glove box. Other things would be a bad relay like the A/C relay to the compressor being stuck in the on position and A/C clutch engaged all the time. Start with the light's it may take a few days but better then going to the dealer and paying them to do the same thing for a few days and charging you for the service. Keep me posted, be glad to help out.

Why does my car's battery keep on continuing to need to be recharged?

The battery needs to be replaced or the alternator is bad. I would try to replace the battery in your car first to see if that fixes the problem. If our car is still not starting up or if the battery keeps on needing to be recharge then the alternator is bad and should be replaced.

My mazda 3 2012 had its battery die from old age 6 months ago. Replaced the battery twice and it keeps dying. Found out theres a parasitic drain coming from the "room" fuse in the car.

Your car is probably less of a car than you imagine and more of a wheeled computer.
It isn't wise to make electrical equipment changes and best practice regarding accessories is to wire independently from the battery and protect each circuit with an additional fuse, leaving the vehicle wiring intact and completely standard.

You will need a circuit diagram of the car as an essential aid to troubleshooting which will tell you how many individual circuits are fed by the fuse and you can isolate each circuit in turn - not a task for the faint-hearted.

As a matter of interest, how big is the parasitic drain and how are you measuring it and how long does it take for your battery to discharge? Modern vehicles do have circuits that need to be kept alive and they consume current constantly. When first connecting the battery there is quite a current surge but it soon settles at a few milliamps, about the same as the battery self-discharge.

If you can't accurately measure the size of the drain (always the best starting point) you can calculate the approximate drain using the battery capacity and how much a fully charged battery discharges in any time period, say, 24 hours.

Finally, are you certain the alternator is charging sufficiently to keep a fully charged battery fully charged? The car alternator isn't designed to recharge a battery and mostly isn't capable of it unless you are driving almost constantly for days...

Nissan hardbody 2.7d 4x4 1996. What battery do I need.

First off have the battery load tested for a dead cell. secondly find and fix the fault that is draining the battery. Lastly you have described the battery that fits the car ----12 volt 622 crank amp hour. hour. Have a talk with the battery supplier that tests the battery.

My 92 volvo 240 has been sitting outside all summer. i have started it a few times and went to start it today. it won't do anything. what could be the problem and a solution?

"It won't do anything" means that there are no dash lights, no buzzers, nothing?
Any car has very slight electrical drains when it is shut off. For one thing, the clock is running, but there are a number of other tiny loads as well. With a good battery, you should be able to park a car for six months to a year and still start it.
However, if you start the car several times without running it long enough to recharge the battery, or if the drain is larger than it should be due to electrical problems or aftermarket accessories, you can get a failure to start.
Unfortunately, maintanence-free batteries don't tolerate being run completely dead very well, and many owners have unhappily found that draining an older battery once or twice was the last straw that ended their battery's life.
I suggest that you borrow a charger or a set of jumper cables to start the car, and drive it 30 minutes or so to fully charge the battery. If you have more problems, get the battery load tested at a shop that sells batteries to see if it is still OK.

I need a replacement for the original battery on my 2004 Saab 9.3 that is dead. What are your suggestions for the highest quality replacement battery??

Why bother?
You got 6 years out of the old one, and it was probably abused sitting around a lot while being shipped, waiting to be picked up, etc. A Saab does not have a hard starting engine, so there is hardly any need for anything special. And if you spend twice as much, it is not going to last twice as long. If you have no shorts and a good alternator, a normal battery is fine.

However, is you are determined to have the best, I believe that is an Optima. Costs about $150, and is a sealed gelcell battery that won't give off explosive or corrosive gases. Allows much deeper cycling and quicker recharge as well. Easy on the alternator.

After driving the car and turning off ignition, the car sometimes will refuse to start. I need to recharge the battery. When the battery is checked it is good. this has happened twice since June 19,1010

Assuming you don't have loose or dirty connections to the battery, then it is most likely your starter. Some auto parts stores can test it on the car. I had the same problem a few years ago, it would start fine when cold but if it sat less than about an hour, it would act like a dead battery, but would jumpstart fine. I had replaced the starter only about a year before, so I was sure it was OK. Ended up replacing both battery and alternator before finally replacing the starter.
When the starter is hot, it is not as strong.

If it won't start after sitting for a day or two, sometimes it is a trunk or dome light that stays on and drains the battery, but that is not your problem.

Own a 2005 BMW M3, car battery draining -battery less than year.

From what you're saying here, I believe that you simply have a bad battery. Most batteries only last 5 years, much less if they're left to sit in storage periodically. You really should charge the battery overnight and do a load test on it the next day. The person(s) you spoke to at BMW were probably sales staff and not actual technicians. Costco has very good batteries at reasonable prices.
