On my Toshiba 2573db tv, the sound from the normal channels carries
over to all of the ext. channels. When I try to play DVDs or games, the
sound won't work; it will just have the same sound from whatever
channel it was on before (eg 1-5). This was caused by someone pressing
random buttons on the remote, and I can't work out how to fix it. Thanks
Restore the set electronics to factory defaults. Check manual for location of reset button or contact toshiba for reset protocol

If you have lost sound on only one station and are using cable or an antenna directly to the TV. Look in the audio settings as most likely the SAP mode is turned on. If the TV detects a SAP signal even if there is no audio this is what you will end up with.

It is possible that the TV set has an SAP (secondary audio program) setting that has been turned on. To check this go in the the menu, find audio settings, usually the correct setting for this is Stereo, other setting may include Mono, Surr-Stereo, etc.

Its a backlight problem. Common with this model. Under warranty? If not, then its a service shop repair.
