Distorted sound because of HDMI inports.

On my panasonic tc-l32c22 tv, whenever I connect something with an HDMI cable, after about an hour and a half, the sound distorts like someone pressed a distortion pedal on a guitar. After either turning the tv off and on, or waiting 3 minutes, the sound rights itself. Can this be fixed? I've put up with it for about 3 years on movies (via PS3), but now I connected my Roku via HDMI and it affects my tv watching as well. I've also tried different HDMI cables, so it is not that either. :(

SOURCE: Panasonic TH-46PZ85U Plasma TV

Symptom:
TV shuts off unless all the input (phono and HDMI) cables are disconnected. The
symptom may be intermittent.
Cause:
There is an abnormal AC voltage entering the TV from one of the input cables or AC
outlet.
Remedy:
Follow the Testing procedure to determine if there is a problem external to the product.

Concept
Constant symptom
If the TV no longer shuts off when all input cables are disconnected, then one of the
input cables is introducing abnormal voltages into the TV. Panasonic Plasma TV sets
have 3 wire AC plugs.
As a result, abnormal voltages introduced into this TV will cause the TV to shut off for
protection.
Intermittent symptom
If the abnormal input voltage is borderline (marginal), the TV shut off symptom may be
intermittent. However the cause may still be detectable with a voltmeter.
Protection Proof:
Release the protect mode - the TV has to be unplugged to reset this protection circuit.

Threats from the HDMI input:
Excessive voltage from an HDMI cable connected product will activate the Plasma TV’s
protection circuitry. Placing an isolating / buffering connector (sometimes called a voltage
conditioner) between the TV and the HDMI input cable often solves the problem.
Testing -
Unplug all the HDMI inputs from the TV. Turn on the TV. Plug in the HDMI inputs one at a
time. The cable that causes the TV to enter the protection state is connected to the product
that has the excessive voltage (and signal). Avoid connecting this product until an isolating
connector is found.

This sound more like a cable issue. Also check the leads going from your cable box to the set/ If you are using component cables one of them may be loose.

Hi there
I've just looked at that TV model, and it appears that your TV does not support a separate audio connection for HDMI sockets. It also appears that your laptop model has a issue with sending audio via HDMI. Are you running Linux, or windows?
Hope this helps

How to connect Panasonic TC-P50C2 to Bose Wave?

Connecting the audio between the cable box and the TV is easy, if you are using one of the composite or component video inputs. Just plug in the associated R/L audio jacks in a line with the video input. If you are using the HDMI input, that carries sound on the HDMI cable. You don't need to connect the audio out of the cable box to the TC-P50C2. See the connections page of the TV manual here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/246619/Panasonic-Viera-Tc-P50c2.html?page=12#manual . Then set the TV to this input.

However, the Panasonic TC-P50C2 does not have an analog audio output. You could try connecting the cable box RCA audio out to the Bose Wave system. You will need a RCA M/M to 3.5 mm adapter cable. (Alternatively a RCA M/M to 3.5 mm F converter and an AUX (3.5mm M/M cable or a 3.5mm M to RCA F/F adapter with a standard RCA audio cable will work between the cable box and the Bose ) This may not have the audio sync correctly with the video.

The alternative is to use a digital to analog audio converter and one of the above RCA to 3.5 mm solutions. Get an converter that has an optical digital audio input and an optical audio cable (Toslink). (The cable isn't always sold with the converter.) (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/246619/Panasonic-Viera-Tc-P50c2.html?page=50#manual ) See some converters here: https://www.amazon.com/DA-Converters/b?ie=UTF8&node=3224445011 .

I hope this helps.

Contact the authorized service center for Panasonic. It sounds like a firmware corruption. A firmware update might be necessary.

Your TV does support Audio Return Channel (ARC). Try connecting your Bluray player to HDMI 2 and your sound bar to HDMI 1(ARC). You will need to make sure that VIERA link is turned on in the Setup menu of the TV.

I cannot get sound when using an HDMI with my Panasonic Viera TC-L32X2 LCD. I have tried three different HDMI cables, I'm highly confident that is not the problem. My cable provider had to override...

Is this TV new or new to you? I suggest you check two parts of the Audio > Advanced Audio menu. First check if the TV speakers are set to on. Next check the HDMI audio setting. This should be set to Digital. (There is an analog option that works with DVI to HDMI cables and older HDMI cables that aren't fully HDMI compliant. For these situations, you connect an audio cable between the cable box and TV. I believe your audio cable needs to have a 3.5 MM (M) end at the TV and plugs in at the computer audio input.)

Since your cable provider turned off the HDCP (high definition copy protection), it's possible that the cable box is treating the cable as being incapable of carrying the audio. Try using the Analog audio option, described above. You may want to check if your cables are fully-compliant with the HDMI specification (and HDCP). Then get the HDCP enabled in the cable box. Similarly, check the audio output settings for the cable box. (If you can access the Settings for the cable box without a service call, you should look at the Audio and Display settings. My cable box has Display options for HDMI versus DVI cables, as well as a choice for Digital Audio for the HDMI option in the Display sub-menu.)

I hope these ideas help. If you need more information, add a comment with the settings for your Audio and Display settings. The manual is available on the TC-L32X2 support page, http://shop.panasonic.com/support-only/TC-L32X2.html . The direct link to the manual is currently ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/television/om/tc-l32x2_en_om.pdf . See page 28 for the Audio menu options. Since you tried three cables, I think the odds of all three being bad is slim.
