As has been discussed numerous times it is usually not useful to try to get info from a bike serial number. That is especially true for department store bikes, which were made by various manufacturers, even in the same year. Sometimes components (hubs, tires, etc. have date codes on them that will tell you when the component was manufactured. The model name, if any, will be on the bike - frame tube or chainguard. Also any department store bike, unless very old, is of little value. Best way to date it is to Google
Sears (# of speeds) bicycle and look at the Image results, then see if a similar bike to yours has a notation on the web page where it's posted as to what year it is.
