Stepping motor error on janome 8000, grinding noise

What is wrong with my machine when this appears on the screen "stepping motor error"? The stepping motor feeds the material through the foot of the machine. It appears that you have an issue with this motor. You can check the machine, oil and clean the machine to see if this helps.

Janome dks 100 se - it keeps beeping when I press the foot pedal and I have to do this several times before it starts sewing. It doesn't beep when using the stop/start button and is sewing fine

Same machine and model and same problem. It’s really irritating. It’s not the bobbin as the screen flashes worth the foot pedal. I’ll look at the tension but given how often it beeps and on so many different projects with different thread and tension it seems to be a fault of some kind... searching for a fix...

How do I fix the speed of stitching? When I press on the foot feed I get almost no speed from it.

unless it has been progressively getting slower, I did have a simular issue. My pedal was getting "stuck" at the 1/2 mark. (wasn't pressing all the way down). Drove me nuts. Took the machine apart, cleaned oiled, cleaned again blah blah blah...when the pedal was the last option took it apart and found a nut from a screw had gotten inside the pedal and stopping it from pressed down. There could be a burr, a nick or something it is catching on.

Janome 8000 on but witout functioning

Turn on the power switch while you are pressing the start/stop key, reverse key and auto-lock key.The LCD screen indicates(Press + Mark) You should see a ( + ) on the screen.
Press the center of the plus mark with a non-sharp object. The mark moves and the machine beeps.Do this until the screen says Adjustment END.
Turn off the power switch. Wait 10-15 seconds and turn on the power switch and see if you can select stitches.

If this doesn't solve your problem and you can see the patterns on the screen you have another problem which will probably involve a visit to a technician either Janome or Elna trained(Model CE20)

If you can't see any patterns or they are faint then the LCD board needs to be rebuilt and an authorized Janome Dealer can remove the board, send it to Janome for a rebuild and reinstall it for you.Plan on spending more than $300 for this. If the machine works well, it is well worth if as it is a very nice machine.

The bobbin grinds when I start to so

Hi,

Sounds like a bobbin case related problem. Unplug the machine, then remove the needle plate to get access to the black bobbin case. Inspect the underside of it  VERY carefully for ANY marks or roughness. You can expect very fine 'scratches', but no chunks or rough bits. Now check the metal rim that the bobbin case sits on is PERFECTLY smooth. particularly look for any tiny burrs on the top or inside edge of the rim, or any sign of a needle hit. Should not be any! If there are, the mechanic shoul fix it at no extra cost cos he missed the problem. Whilst checking the bobbin case, look for ANY marks on the top surface of it. The SLIGHTEST mark WILL upset the sewing.

Hope this assists!
