Default password I have a Router DES 1008D,i do not have its password,how can i access it now.

SOURCE: Reset problem

This device only a switch and there's really no reset button for this and there's also no configuration on this device its just a passthrough of internet access if you have a router that's the one that you can reset and also your modem..

Welcome to Fixya. D-Link Des-1008d is not a router. It's an 8 port switch. You won't be logging into that unit, It's a switch and has no login, it just works.

How I Know User name and password of D-link DES-1008D Router. And How Port Forward?
This you need to contact the reseller or the store. He will be able to help you with the information. By default the user name is Admin and the password is blank and you should be allowed to work with it. Else there is something which the store should seriously help you on.

maybe u should set domain(no workgroup) on ur server and set your default gatway to server IP. but I'm not sure that works

Connecting to the modem to dvr
you didnt state the cameras were IP addressable...are they? brand of camera, and which security DVR you were using. Most DVRs wont or dont use the router as it doesnt rotate or change the picture, but I dont know which one you have. Most instead they use a multiplexer .

DES-1008D connectivity issues.
Is the modem a DSL or cable model?
Does the router have one ethernet port and a WAN port?
Normally the broadband modem is connected to the WAN port on the router and the ethernet port on the router is then connected to the hub/switch and the computers are then connected to the hub/switch.
The modem gets an unique IP address from your Internet Service Provider and then the router then issues Class "C" IP addresses to each computer that is connected to the switch/hub.

enter configuration (default ip @ is 192.168.

Access your router’s configuration http://192.168.0.1 (this is default)

user and password (dafault admin/ and blank nothing)

Then go to the WAN option select on the lower part the MTU value.

it's 1500

try a lower value 1482 for example, 1480...
