Are you sure you have an SD card, 2GB or smaller, and not a higher-capacity SDHC card? While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they will not work with the A410.

SOURCE: locked memory card

There is a tiny switch located on the side of the memory card, might even say lock on it or beside it. Just flick the switch opposite of the way it is now and it should work fine after that. There might even be a small arrow showing which way to switch it. The reason for the lock button is "just" for this, so you don't accidentally erase some wanted pictures or someone else.

SOURCE: Canon Power Shot A400 will only work with original Canon SD card

Make sure you are using an SD card and not an SDHC card. The SDHC protocol is newer than your camera, and your camera does not support it. SD cards have capacities up to 2 GB. Your camera should work properly with any SD or MMC card.

SOURCE: How to format an SD card on a Canon SD600 camera

Could be that you have the wrong memory card.
SD600 will only work with the old SD cards, but the SD780 will take the SDHC cards.
SDHC was intended to give 4gb or more of storage, while the old SD started as 16 mb.  Different cameras have different limits, but it is always best to assume that the practical limit on an SD card is 2mb.  Even if the SD780 will take the SDHC cards, it can be more practical to only carry 2GB SD cards and know that they will fit either camera

Card reading error

Have you tried a different SD card, or a newer SD card? If the card isn't the issue you may have damaged/dirty pins in the camera memory slot. If so, there are "cleaning" cards available that MIGHT work but otherwise, it will need to go in for repair.

Normally, you can only insert an SD card one way. Try a different SD card or check to see if the SD card you're using has the "write protect" switch on. If that's not the issue try formatting the card in your PC and then format it in the camera.

Gateway digital camera DC-T50 5.25 megapixels put new memory card and a card error message appears

The camera uses SD cards. I assume your new card is 8GB, not 8MB as you stated. If this is the case, it's an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work in the SD-only camera. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

What's your problem?i put a 4gb memory card in my canon SD 200 and it says error why

The SD200 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work in this camera. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Memory caed error please check the card

Hello

OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.

6c99e31.jpg

If the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to try the card in another camera.

If the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader in your camera.

If you open you sd slot and look inside with a sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work as follows:

1. When no card is inserted / no write protection , the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the card is lock.

Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card normally.

It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to bend it.

If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further information

Kind regards
Andrea

Remove SD card, then whilst card is removed, delete all pictures that may still be stored in cameras 'internal' memory (usually just a few) then replace SD card. Should be unlocked now?.

Bought 8gb memory card - error message

Hi, I suspect that the SD card is to big for that camera as that camera is a lower end camera. You should try the SD card in a camera that is known to be able to handle such a huge card.
