RCA TV Model 27V412T Standby light on but will not power up
My 2 year old 27" RCA (Video game machine) will not power on. The standby light is on but the power button will not start the TV. Do not have the remote (just moved) and it is in some yet unpacked box? Is it just dead?

On the top of the t.v. itself, hold down the Volume+ (up) and the Menu button down at the same time. This will turn off the "power lock." This is also how you turn on the "power lock." (Though I can't think of a reason anyone would ever want to do this.)
Also the problem ca be from factory defect in the if and video section of the tv only the manufacturer could remedy that.take it to a tech so that the video board and the IF board be replaced
Hope it helps...Thanks ....feel free to contact me back ....Ok ?..
It maybe some semiconductor IC got hot, need service or repair. It may repair itself if you leave it on standby for a month(at operating temprature a week)? This is low tempeature(the lower the temperature the longer the time) annealing or moisture curing technology, used by Nasa on transistor failure in satellites, or long range unmanned vehicles. You can always repair the unit later.
No your set would not be like the HD52W19 model ,your model number is on back of tv year, chassis & Model # being 10 yrs old ptk195 model------- older Rca ptk169 these sets are 16yrs old.My guess without hands on chassis Bad Flyback Transfomer.
If the front panel lock is on, you will need a working original remote (or a universal remote properly programmed for RCA) to turn the set on. The IR receiver is next to the buttons on the fromt but the RCA IR receivers are very reliable, and I have yet to see a bad one in a modern RCA TV. Once you turn the set on by remote, you can enter the menu and turn the FPA off.
