Sony vcr se720 leaves a loop of tape when ejected?h

I used to own a Sharp vcr that periodically did the same thing and the engineer would replace a rather expensive roller and clutch assembly. I think it was called an idler reel.

When a cassette is inserted the mechanism draws out a loop of tape that must be rewound when eject is pressed. The mechanism is fairly complex and engineers use a special cassette in order to view the operation...

JVC HR-S9500 S-VHS VCR. all functions work except the eject on the vcr. there is no eject on the remote.it plays, ff, rew, stops etc. I can't get the tape out.

the eject button is a plastic piece that turns and pushes down on the board and is more then likely broken open the vcr take off the front face plate and check the button, it will propaply fall out. you can use super glue and glue the button back in place

VCR tape won't eject

you should take the bottom off and you will see a gear with a belt around it try to turn it the same direction as when it is turned off, do not force it but it may need a little force to move the wheel.

VCR repeatedly tries to play and eject when tape deck is empty

the tape carriage is probably stuck, or something stuck inside blocking the tape sensor.
feed a tape in and see if it does it "with" the tape too

Tapes won't play and won't retract when ejecting

This is the most common VCR problem of all time. The piece call the idler tire is worn down and needs replacing. This is the little wheel in the mechanism between the 2 reels that flips back and forth depending on which direction you've told it to go. It has a rubber tire around it to allow some slippage so that the take up reel can go whatever speed it needs to as it accumulates more and more tape on it as it goes through your movie. Sometimes this tire is very difficult to get at so it isn't something you should try to do yourself unless very mechanicly inclined. Replace the rest of the rubber belts while you're at it.
Hope Ya Fix it!

Tape stuck in VCR, won't eject.

depending on th einternal design of the vcr. look for the loading/unloading mech, by finding the blak rubber belt that is looped from the motor to a pully. now turn it one way. it may thak 25 to 50 complete rotations of the belt. try turning both ways, one will load & 1 will unlaod. good luck.

Tape ejects just after insertion

the end-of-tape optical sensor is at fault. either it is very dirty, has failed or something else is detecting end of tape. many VCR's now will auto-eject the tape upon end of tape detect
