I have a Proscan pledv2488a. There is a disk in the DVD player, but I cannot find a way to eject it. There appears to be no eject button on the remote. What can be done?

Do you have the original remote or a universal remote? On the original remote, the Eject button is also the Favorites (FAV) button. It's just below the Volume - section of the Volume toggle on the left side of the remote. The button has an upwards arrow above a line on it. You probably need to set the source to DVD for the Eject button to work properly. (If the source is TV, the button will add or delete the current channel to the Favorites list.) You can cycle through the input source options by pressing the Source button on the TV or the remote. On the TV, the Source button is between the Power and Menu buttons. On the remote, the Source button is on the right hand side above the Up arrow key.

The manual for the PLEDV2488A is available from Proscan at the manufacturer's site: http://www.proscanvideo.com/product/PLEDV2488A . Click on the Downloads tab. The direct link is http://legacy.curtisint.com/html/CustService/Manuals/PRO_PLEDV2488A_EN.pdf . Page 8 describes the remote buttons.

I hope this helps.

Disc will not eject from dvd player

Have you tried both the eject button on the DVD drive and the remote? Is there a disk jammed in the drive? Here is the manual:
http://www.curtisint.com/html/custservice/manuals/PRO_PLEDV1945A_EN.PDF

most of the time there is a small hole near the eject button that you can unbend a paper clip and insert it into that will release the door.

here's a video.. it's a computer, but same principle:

How do you eject the DVD

I you can't do it with the Remote control, you might be able to do it on the TV itself.
I'm not positive about this, but there should be a button on the back outer-edge of the TV that may control the DVD player.

If not, here is a link to Download the manual. Scroll down & click on 'Guides + Info' and then the download link.

Proscan dvd player

the manual may be available in some of these following website....

www.allamericandirect.com/TOSHIBA_PRO_SCAN_DVD_VCR_COMBO_Player_NO_TUNER_p/sdv295.htm

www.usersmanualguide.com/funai/dvd_player

just open your dvd player with the door ejected and then just clean the dust particles and obstacles in the door way and especially clean the lens... use only dry clothes for cleaning ... after that just give a try..

if problem persists or if you are afraid of opening it or if you dont have any idea about it then contact the near by technician and tell your problem...
he will clean the lens with the white petrol or spirit...
then your problem will be solved ...
he will not charge much for cleaning lens he may charge 100 bugs or 150 bugs that s all ...
and if there is any other problem just like the lens is out something like that he may charge more...
