I was given a Panasonic AJ-D230H DVCPro recorder. I'm using a PC (running Vista) and am editing via Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5. The computer is connected to the deck with a FireWire cable.
When I export to tape, I get great video, but absolutely no audio! I have all the software set to export to DV hardware but I can't make heads or tails of the manual.
Is there a specific setting I need to have in order to capture both video and audio on export?
Thanks,
Steve
Helen,
I've tried every possible switch setting combination and have come to the conclusion that the firewire option board is in need of repair. I ended up solving the problem by getting a Sony Palm Cam from Wal-Mart on sale and use that to capture my audio and video. Then, to send the tape to the network, once I'm done editing, I export to miniDV on the Sony and copy that tape to DVCPro using analog AV connections.
It's not exactly an elegent solution, but it works.......
Thanks anyway,
Steve
The input select switch on the front of the AJ-D230H needs to be in the "OPTION" position, not "LINE". That may help if all the other settings are correct. You will also have to make sure that you have selected the right codecs for the deck that you are using in the software. I am speaking as a Final Cut Pro user so only offer this as a suggestion as these are the things that work from out of Final Cut.
Good luck. It can be very frustrating, but awesome when it all comes together and works right!!!
