Re: cable connector repair
Best repair is replace tuner. Next is replace broken connector. Use generic RF input connector from supplier such as Mouser Electronics or RCA part # 215543.
Next - By-pass would need a source box ( cable, satellite, vcr), in other words, channel change ability . Hook cable-in to source then go out to TV video input.TV would stay on video input as a monitor........T.
PS. If you want the tuner part # , please provide service # from back of set....

the kick down cable must have slack, at idle.
if not its bad. (end to end, something is wrong with it)
this cable is for passing gear.
you jam the throttle and the tranny then down shifts.
called, kickdown, detent and TV cable.
if the cable rusts it can in fact rust , pulled. and now in passing gear full time. or it can stick driving do to rust.
what i do is make sure the trans, end of cable the detent rod is not sticking, if that is ok, , get a new cable.
Yes. The connector on the tuner is probably pulled out. Depending on your skill or the skill of the repair person and the amount of damage...it MAY be repairable or the entire tuner board may have to be replaced.
This is the connector for the tuner. This repair must be done by someone who knows how to solder. But, if you have a Cable or Satellite box and this TV has AV connectors on the back....you can use those and do not need to repair the TV tuner. If you do not have cable or satellite you can also use a VCR as a tuner. Just put the cable into the VCR and come out of the [VCR] AV outputs into the TV AV inputs.
I have a magnavox plasma 50", when i remove it from the table i forget to unplug the coax cable from the back of the tv so i pull the connector out from it, anyone tell me what can i do to repair or replace this solution?
Yes this is a cheap fix that should only cost between 15.00 and 25.00 US if you take the TV in to be repaired! dont have them come to your house as it will cost much more!!this can be fixed in a few minites so dont let them take advantage of you!

Are you SURE the cables are right?? The cable for the remote sensor and the speakers are both 4 pin and can easily be swapped. The cable with the brown wire (speakers) will attach to the convergence/signal PCB on the far right edge, while the remote connector plugs into a connector closer to the center of this board.
This is normally replaceable if the PC board was not damaged. The 'RF' connector is a soldered (crimped) on item. But don't despair; most projections that I now of have video inputs of some type. If you have a cable, sat box or VCR you can bypass the connector by using 'RCA' cables. On one of the mentioned above devices hook the cable from box to TV. The 'box' will have a video output connector and the TV will have an input connector. The cables are color coded yellow (video), red and white (audio). Switch TV's input to correct input eg. input one, input 2. Respond back @ [email protected] for more person to person information. Good Luck, Big Irish.
This unfortunately is a common issue that happens when moving televisions with the coaxial connection (the silver connector). Normally the best way to get this repaired is to bring it in to a local repair facility. I can't speak on the costs but they should be nominal, as long there wasn't any other internal components that were damaged.
Another repair option might be to purchase a digital converter box for your television as long as you have Audio/Video inputs. With the pending conversion to digital broadcasts this would be killing two birds with one stone.
Unless you know how to sholder well and know how to do an isolation test on the set after its repaired I would let a pro do it My friend as I've seen it a hundred times. A peep will simply hook up a connector to the set and ground the connector or what looks like a ground and as soon as that set is pluged into an ac outlet and a cable or sat line is attached KAPOWWWWEEYYY.. It smokes and you end up blowing out the bridge rectifiers aong with all sorts of things. Now dont get me wrong please as you can repair set if and only if you wanna take that chance by simply taking a piece of coax cable with a connector on one end and soldering the center wire onto the broken wire that came off the connector and then soldering the outside or sheild wire to the place where the broken connector was attached if at all possible BUT I repeat this is not a good way to do this. Good luck
