I lost the installation disk but was still able to install the printer onto my laptop. But for some reason I can not scan any documents as a PDF file. It just shows as a picture file which is too large to e-mail. Please help. Thanks

You will need the install disk to have your copier, scanner, etc to work properly\ You can contact the manufacturer for the installation disk or re install using the disk provided with the unit. this should restore the scanner operation if you have lost that function. 2. check the user's manual for specific instruction on the scanner usage.
I solved the solution by going onto the lexmark website and downloading the driver for my printer. The reason why it wasnt working for me before is because i had the wrong printer type selected.
firstly, go 2 d printer and faxes folder then add a new printer
then it will display some connection wizard 4 u.
where u will choose 4rm other alternative that is manually not 4rm cd rom
there u will find diff. kind of product 4 ur printer where u will choose the model, if u can find the model choose other
finally, print a test page and ur printer brgin to work automatically
