Can't switch cleaning mode from tool to floor

there's a mechanism inside the steamvac that should switch the mode automatically when you press the handle release and pull the handle down for the vacuum mode... it's automatic! it took so long to figure out because I kept looking for the switch when it was upright and didn't look as I was using it.

No suction for upholstery hose

http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/F5914900.pdf try priming your hose

Before using tool
It may be necessary to remove air from
the system (“prime the pump”) so the
clean solution will flow to the tool. Follow
these steps:
1. Attach tool to hose and turn the carpet
cleaner ON.
2. Put the tool on a hard surface or
against your hand to block off the suction.
3. Wait a few seconds (can take up to
15 seconds). Then squeeze the trigger
and begin cleaning.
Follow the instructions on pages 14 and
15 for the appropriate cleaning task.

I can't get solution to come through my hose attachement to clean furniture

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F5881-900 Vacuum. It sound to me that you may have a defective pump or switch, the sprayer or solution should not spray out unless you use the trigger. Question? How old is the machine – if it is less than one year this would be covered under the Hoover factory warranty and if it is more than one year than you may want to check the trouble shooting part of the owner’s manual or to call the Hoover tech support line @ the factory. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hoover steamvac clean surge turbo power 5200 attachment problems

That part to install in tank, is at the end of your hose. Take the lide off of the dirty water tank, on the front of the tank, there is a block that will slide out, then you can insert that part in its place. You have to have suction to make the brushes spin, so you just need to put the block on the end of the hose in the slot on the front of the tank. When down however, put that block you took out back, or your cleaner won't work right.

Converting the machine to use the uphostery brush

Remove the duct (#3)in front of the water tank. Your hose on one end will have a duct on it, insert it in the place of the duct that you took out. Don't forget to put that duct in when you are done with the hose.

Hose breakage

The same thing happened to me last week. The inner hose does not have enough "extra" play so if you bend the handle down too low to reach under a dresser or bed the lower inner plastic hose snaps. I brought mine in to be repaired since it's under warranty. I did a long exhaustive search and came across this website1.gif https://www.mdappliance.com that has Hoover Agility replacement hoses and their prices are the best I have found so far. The smaller inner hose (part number 90001080) is only $9.99 (compared to $13.99 & $19.99) and the external hose attachment (part number 91001004) is only $25.99 (compared to $39.95). I specifically asked and the parts are brand new... not refurbished or used. Their phone1.gif number is 866-914-1252. Just in case you're wondering, I'm not a rep for the company nor do I have any affiliation with them. I just placed an order for the hose attacment and came across this webpage1.gif and figured I'd add my 2 cents. Hope this info is helpful. I tried to make it as complete as possible.

Goiod luck.

PS: They also offer a flat rate shipping fee of $7.95 regardless of what you order. No sales tax unles you're in Ohio. :)
