Hdmi settings - Syntax Olevia 226T 26 in. LCD Television

If you're not getting any sound from your DSTV decoder when connected to your Aim 60 Inch Digital UHD TV via HDMI, there are a few things you can try:

1. Check your TV settings: Make sure that your TV's audio settings are set correctly. Check that the volume is turned up and that the TV speakers are not muted or turned off. Also, make sure that the TV is set to receive audio through the HDMI input.
2. Check your DSTV settings: Make sure that your DSTV decoder is set to output audio through the HDMI connection. You can usually check this in the settings menu on the decoder.
3. Try a different HDMI input: If you have other HDMI inputs on your TV, try connecting the DSTV decoder to a different one to see if the problem persists. This will help to narrow down whether the issue is with the HDMI input on your TV or with the DSTV decoder.
4. Try a different HDMI cable: Even if you think your HDMI cable is fine, it's possible that there is an issue with it that is causing the sound problem. Try a different HDMI cable to see if that resolves the issue.

If none of these steps solve the issue, it's possible that there is a problem with the HDMI input on your TV. In that case, you may need to contact Aim customer support for further assistance or consider bringing the TV to a repair shop.

This could be a problem with the cable box or other set top box and not the TV. It's known to happen with Samsung cable boxes from Cablevision.

First try resetting the TV and set top box by unplugging both. Remove the HDMI cable from the TV and the set top box. Reconnect the HDMI cable. If you are using a Redmere or similar HDMI cable, make sure that the end labeled TV is connected to the TV's HDMI port. (These cables have additional electronics and are not reversible.) Connect the power cord to the set top box and wait 30 seconds to a minute. Then plug in the TV. To ensure the set top box does the correct handshake with the TV, turn on the TV first and set it to the HDMI input. Then turn on the set top box. See if this fixes the issue. (On some cable boxes, this can be a temporary fix. You may need to have the set top box replaced.)

If the above steps don't help, try a different HDMI cable. If that doesn't solve the problem, then the set top box is faulty.

Try and find HDMI settings and set it to 1080p.. Be sure to use a HDMI cable.

Unplug set, HDMI, and a box if used for a while--connect the HDMI first and then power to set and or box--see if set will reboot or box.

HDMI does not like power loss, being connected or disconnected with power on etc.

Also in set menu make sure HDMI input is "available".

I have noticed using an HDMI cable that with some of the newer tvs you have to set up the tv also to enable HDMI for a game system. Like you said before internet tv and blueray dvd player work fine. Try adjusting the settings on the tvs themselves. I have a 50in DLP mitsubishi, and had a very troubling time getting my ps3 to work on that particular tv set while it worked flawlessly on other sets. And what I had to do was enter my tv setup menu and then power on my ps3 with both my AV and HDMI cables connected, it would pick up the AV first. Then I would alter the video settings on the PS3 for HDMI, and unplug the AV cable. Exit the tv menu and then reenter it. Then I had to setup my HDMI port from the tv to game in order for it to work, where you can set options ar usually like cable/dvd/sat, and so on. Without my TV being set to game that way it would not work. Try this and see if it helps. Good Luck.

You have to use the scart connector for on screen menu settings. Go to the video option and enable HDMI and/or match resolution output to your set.
You did not mention the model of the TV so here is another scenario,
Just because the TV is 1 year old doesn't mean that it is a 1080p capable, you could have set the HDMI resolution settings to 1080p and you will not get any picture if your set cannot process the information.

What do you hear? Do all other modes work ok?

If Audio Select (Page 44 and 98) is set to HDMI you will hear silence if no HDMI signal is present. I think AUTO is the best choice here.

On Page 98 of the manual it says a bunch of things concerning automatic signal detection and input selection.

This unit transmits audio and video signals input at the HDMI input jacks to the HDMI out jack only when this unit is turned on even if "S.AUDIO" is set to "OTHER".

I'd look in these areas for specific guidance.

have you retried booting the hdmi cable by turning all products off remove hdmi cable then turn products on then re insert hdmi cable

For me, it was the Monitor Out setting that had defaulted back to Component. I remembered to change the individual inputs to HDMI - but had forgotten to set the Monitor Out to be HDMI.

Okey,

Connect the hdmi, into the HDMI 1. that is automatically input one. Connect the 2nd device on Input 2, thats next to input 1 and hdmi, leave the input 1 empty, as the hdmi is connected to that.

3rd device into input 3
4th device into input 4.
