SOURCE: KENMORE DISHWASHER WATER DOESN'T SPRAY.
If there's no water entering your dishwasher, check these:
Water-inlet valve
Float switch
Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely
replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device
with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two
wires attached to it.
Float switch
The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor."
Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills
the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised
position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.
SOURCE: Dishwasher will not fill
EE,
The most likely culprit in a "no fill" scenario (especially after you've replaced the valve) is the Overflow preventer. It's designed to kill power to the valve if the water level gets too high. It does this by floating up as the water level rises.
Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower rack. You'll see it in the tub on the left side (the round thing that looks like a little hat). If it's stuck in the up (overflow) position, you won't get water. Raise and lower this device a few times... you should hear the "click click click" of the kill switch. Now just make sure it's in full down (ready for water) position and fire up the dishwasher. You should get water now.
If this helped, please rate this solution as "FixYa". BUT if this didn't fix the problem, don't rate it just yet. Write back and we'll go a little deeper into a diagnosis, OK?

check and see if you are getting ac 110 volts to your water vave when trying to start the unit. if no power check your breakers and /or the incoming power to your dishwasher if they are ok and show 110 voltage coming to the unit then you probably have a control board or touchpad problem which would need a little more detailed check out.
If you do have ac 110 to your water valve then you may just have a bad water valve. Because the washer has to fill first. Hope that helps!!

Motor has gone out..just like mine...Make sure u have voltage going to the motor, (disconnect the plug from the motor) and use an electric meter to make sure you have voltage going to the motor. If so the motor has either gone out or has been blocked by something! If no noise except clicking then motor has gone out. Looking at about $150 for motor.

You may want to contact Sears to see if there was a recall on your model dishwasher. There were problems with the door assemblies on some model dishwashers that were caused by the rinse agent leaking into the wire harness of the door. Over time the rinse agent would corrode the wire insulation causing the units to catch fire in some cases. The fix was a free inner door and wiring harness upgrade kit from the manufacturer. Here is a link you can refer to that may offer some assistance:

Although I did not see your model number listed, you may want to call the Consumer Product Safety Commission number listed at the bottom of the page and report this incident.
I hope this offers some assistance to you.
