Off/on switch does not work

I vacuumed one room and turned off vacuum.  Went to another room turned it on and nothing happened.  I waited 2 days and still when I turn on vacuum, nothing happens.  Any ideas would be helpful.  I checked belt and it is O.K.

I removed the two screws in the back and re assembled. I can turn it on but not off.

I took apart the vacuum until the actual on/off switch, which was difficult to switch. I think it may be a broken spring inside.

The on/off switch in Hoover Windtunnel upright vacuum cleaners is operated by a lever in the handle assembly.  remove the two screws on the back ovf the vacuum and see if the lever has bypassed the switch assembly.  if so, re-assembly should fix the problem.  It is also possible that the switch activating lever has broken.  If so, replace the activating lever.

My vacuum worked just fine... i went in another room to use it and now it won't turn on no matter what outlet i use!

If it works in the other room's outlets, I would think that it might be tripping the circuit breaker for the room it isn't working in. Check your circuit breakers.

Pronto doesn't work at all

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. I assume you are not from Australia as that machine is called an ergo rapido here. That machine here suffers from very dodgy switches but little else goes wrong. I would suggest it is a repair for a professional to replace the switch. If it is under 2 years old it should be a warranty repair. Hope this helps.
Happy Vacuuming! :)

Vacuum working perfectly and everything stopped. Went to the utility room and found a plastic bag on top of the equipment. Tried the reset button, etc. nothing works.

sounds like a bad relay in the tank just a simple repair but should be done by a vacuum tech or electrician. Could be a motor is nothing is starting at all, but not as likely.
