If you want to open it, just undo the screws on the back, there is no secret incantation that one can say to make thing easier than that.
Open it at your own risk.

Open the battery compartment. Above the four AAA batteries you should see a small screw. Unscrew that to uncover the backup battery.

How do I open a TI-30XIIS?

It isn't glued, it just has a couple of tight clips there. Take a tiny flat screw driver and gently pry it open. It will pop open. I just finished changing my battery and that's what I had to do. It came apart and went back together just fine.

How do i change the battery in my calculator ibico 128S

Hi,

Turn the calculator backward, you will see screws holding the back cover tightly, use a small Philips screwdriver to remove the screw holding the back cover in place. once all the screws are removed, you will full access to the battery, carefully remove the battery and replace it with a new one, screw back all the screws with the Philips screwdriver, after this, you are done.

It is frozen. the cursor is blinking but none of the buttons work, not even to turn it off or clear the memory. i need this for a test tomorrow. HELP!!

I just had the same problem a few minutes ago and I managed to somehow fix it. Here's what I did:

1. Remove the back cover
2. Unscrew the little screw where it says "back-up battery"
3. Pull the cover off
4. Push in on the circular battery and then let go
5. Replace the cover, and make sure to screw the screw in tight

If that doesn't work, do the same process except remove the AAA batteries before you unscrew the 2nd cover. The manual says not to do that because you might lose memory, but if it's your last resort then it's worth a shot.

Hope that helps, there's a ton of reasons your calc could be malfunctioning so I don't guarantee that this will work.

Can I do numbers squared on this calculator, and how would I enter this?

The TI-30XA is a scientific calculator with many functions. You can calculate problems with fractions and decimals, as well as solve problems of probability and functions. A scientific calculator computes the number sentence you type in using the order of operations: parentheses first, then roots and exponents, then division and multiplication and, finally, addition and subtraction.
How to Use a TI-30XA
  • Step 1Press the [ON/C] key to turn on the calculator. Press the [OFF] key to turn it off. To use the calculator in solar mode, put the solar panel in the light and then press the [ON/C] key. To turn it off when in solar mode, slide the calculator cover back on and it will automatically shut off.
  • Step 2Replace the batteries by first removing the cover and placing it face down. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to unscrew the back panel. Remove the back panel and change the batteries. Screw the back panel back on. Press [OFF] [ON/C] and [ON/C].

You need to unscrew the screw at the back / base of the handle. The whole handle section will need to be slid backwards. Best way is to unscrew the screw on the rear approx 5 turns and then bump the end of the screwdriver. A few more turns then bump the end of the screwdriver again. The whole handle will eventually slide backwards and fall off. Then unscrew the two screws at the front (near switch) and the front switch cover plate will lift up (hinging at the top). This reveals the incoming wires etc.
