Hi i just bought and installed a stainless steel otr samsung microwave. once the installation was complete i proceeded to familiarize myself with some of the functions. I had turned on the LED lights that shine down towards the stove. They worked great for about 1-2 minutes then they start flickering. If you shut them off for a while and turn them back on it works ok for the 1-2 minutes then flicker again. There is 2 led 's if one or the other is disconnected they will still flicker. Any feedback would be appreciated

It sounds like you may have had an issue with a high voltage part such as the magnetron, diode, or transformer. It's also possible that you had an arcing stirrer. I would also check to see if your model is covered by / affected by this bulletin: http://microwavedisplay.com/ge_mw_mag_kit_bulletin.pdf If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety & disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

What does the service center have to say about this?
Or did you do it yourself?

Your magnetron is overheating and tripping the thermostat, which interrupts power until it cools.
Since
it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty.
I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.
You can find your nearest Maytag-authorized servicer here.

The extreme heat has opened up one of the thermostats / thermal cutouts (TCOs) in the oven.
If it was the bottom TCO or magnetron TCO, you should be able to access them by just removing the control panel.
But if it's the one on top of the cavity, the oven will have to come out of the wall, then you need to pull of the outer cover..
If
so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have
two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.
You can download GE
owner's manuals and installation instructions here.
There
should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit
behind the
control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is
very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.
You should locate and look this over first.
At
our Web site, we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This light failure often
occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament
shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first
unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a
failure on the controller.
The lights can can be
inoperable or stuck on or no bright, too. Sometimes this will similarly
affect the exhaust fan operation or inside light, too.
Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your
full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.
