The dishwasher seems to just fill with water and the dish soap comes out but does not clean the dishes.
If it looks like the water is circulating then it's possible that soap build up can cause cleaning problems. Try taking a cereal bowl and filling it with an 8 oz bottle of apple cider vinegar (you want apple cider for the citric acid and you want to put in a bowl because the 1st thing a dishwasher does is drain) then put the bowl on the lower rack and wash nothing but the bowl of vinegar. We have found that the new non phosphate soap is also causing problems we have found that Finish tablets work very well and since they are pre-packaged then there is no risk of too much soap causing problems. If that doesn't help then it's possible that the motor is not turning the spray arm at a high enough speed to circulate the water. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem. It was a clogged water inlet valve. Packed with sediment. Accessible from the bottom if you have the right tools. Just clean out and replace. Or the valve could be bad.

Hi If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound. If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps...

I had a similar problem with my last two dishwashers, with food still left on the dishes at the end of the cycle. What a nightmare. The most recent dishwasher is new, now the problem is solved. Here's what the manufacturer told me. Pour white vinegar (approximately 2 cups) into the dishwasher and run through the cycle. Buy some Cascade Complete and only use this type of soap for the dishwasher. Make sure you run a cup or two of the white vinegar through the dishwasher cycle once a week. My dishes are now clean and clear!!
