Cant figure tha wpa - psk/ wpa2- psk number to connect my playstion

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the Playstation, laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the playstation, laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

We have a DLink DI614 router and need to know how to password protect the wireless network

You should download and read manual pages covering Using the Configuration Menu that begins on page 10. Securing your wireless is detailed starting on page 12 for WEP, page 13 for WPA (only if you have a Radius Server - most likely not) and page 14 for WPA-PSK.

Nearly all devices support the older WEP encryption method. The downside is that it is easily defeated with software in under 10 minutes. A much better, more robust method is WPA-PSK. It can not be defeated (yet). If you choose WPA-PSK, any device that you connect wirelessly to this router MUST support WPA-PSK as well, otherwise it will NOT be able to connect.

I hope this helps and good luck. Please rate my reply, thanks.

Hello, I'm trying to connect my wii wireless and it keeps giving me an error code 51330 "unable to connect to the Internet" could you tell me what it means? Thank you.

Error Code: 51330
This error code usually indicates a problem relating to wireless security. Please try the following troubleshooting:
Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router?
  • Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance)
  • Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key.
  • If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
  • If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
  • The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters).
  • If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot.
  • If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types:
  1. WPA - PSK (TKIP)
  2. WPA - PSK (AES)
  3. WPA2 - PSK (AES)
But if the above information doesn't help correct this problem, then give a call to Nintendo's 1-800-255-3700 (6 am ~ 7 pm Pacific, everyday)

Cannot connect to internet error code 51330 is showing

Error Code: 51330 This error code usually indicates a problem relating to wireless security. Please try the following troubleshooting:
  1. Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router?
    1. Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance)
    2. Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key.
    3. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
    4. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.

      • WPA - PSK (TKIP)
      • WPA - PSK (AES)
      • WPA2 - PSK (AES)

  2. If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering:
    1. From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model).
    2. If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings).
    3. If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

Want to connect my psp online through my router.

Please follow the steps on a computer connected to the router so as to check the network key:

1. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router usually by typing 'http://192.168.1.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that Username and Password are case sensitive).
4. Click on Wireless Settings (under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) or WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase.
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless computer to the router's wireless network.

In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new Password and click apply. You will then have to use the same Password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Can i change to wep and back without issues

You can but it would mean you also have to DOWNGRADE your wireless security on the router and also reset the connection for the laptop too.

I have WPA and my sons friend brings his DS and can connect to my system so maybe check your settings a little more.
