Trying to understand the settings on the back of the Model 52264 transformer for Toro low voltage lighting. I do not have a manual. The settings are: 4, 6, 8. and DD. I would guess the numbers are number of lights, but I don't have a clue what the DD means. Thanks, Johnny

4,6,8 is the number of hours you want the lights to stay on. DD means dusk to dawn

Malibu transformer

Unplug transformer, change bulbs with low voltage bulbs from local hardware or home center. There are two screws on back of each bulb.
Copy following link for tips to get power pack to last longer, replacement trippers, warranty, troubleshoot. etc
http://waterheatertimer.org/Malibu-power-pack-stopped-working.html
Reason for unplugging transformer: because product manual lists that as best way to change bulbs. The low voltage transformer output is 12Volts and does not carry enough power to cause you harm if you touch bare wire.
Add a comment and attach photo as needed.

I have your 300W transformer. Hooked up about 100W's worth of low volt light fixtures. It worked the first night for about an hour then went off. Tried plugging it in again and they came on for

1) Most low voltage transformers have warranty, but with some brands, the warranty carrier is unknown:

2) Fixya does not sell transformers.

3) Add comment and clearly describe product, or give product number so timer expert can understand which troubleshoot steps to offer.

Resetting a tripped kitchler low voltage transformer

Model number is not known.
I did not know that Kitchler transformers have a circuit breaker.
Usually they have an override switch.
Did you set the timer to override, what does your product manual say?
Is the transformer humming? Kitchler transformer are supposedly non-audible, but there should be some indicating sound. The humming sound indicates the transformer is working.
Does the unit have photoeye? Cover photoeye with black tape.
Test outlet with circuit analyzer.
Check outlet voltage: if you have 120Volt then output is 10% or 12Volts. If you have reduced voltage, then output is still 10% but might be lower than needed to operate bulbs.
Plug timer into different outlet.
Test output terminals with low voltage tester.
Did you have power outage or nearby lightning strike? Transformers are not protected from surge.
Suggest you contact kitchler.
Kitchler.com website is useless

Kitchler products are probably warranted through the seller.
Kitchler product manuals are almost non-existent.
Scan your product operating manual and parts list into .pdf format and post on web for others to access.

You can go to intermatic.com once you are on there page do a search for your model number, and from there you can download your instructions. Sorry that I could not given you more detailed instructions but with no model number this was as close as I could get you. Good luck!

I have a lionel legacy cab-2 remote i hooked up every thing to the manual but when i turn it on i dont get any track power

just unplug the transformer from the grey box (the one with the green light and red light) and check the voltage. if it doesn't read anything, try unplugging the transformer from the outlet and plugging it back in again. if you get a reading, replug the transformer to the grey box and check the voltage of the silver screws (where you put the + and - wires from the track to) and try using the train again

What Kind of Dimmer?

If the low voltage lighting system uses an electronic transformer, then a dimmer designed for this type of transformer should be used. Likewise, if the low voltage lighting system uses a magnetic transformer, then a dimmer designed for this type of transformer should be used.
