Hi I am working on a abit A 17 mother board it was taken apart by my nephew. I think I have every thing back togather, but when I turn it on it beeps and shows code 92,well I think thats what the l e d box...

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AI7&fMTYPE=Socket 478&pPRODINFO=Manual

The fault could be the cpu, wrong type of ram, a faulty ram module
or a fault in the mainboard.
Check all the settings in the manual and the bios aswell.

Here is a list of beep codes:
Basic Beep Codes for ABIT AWARD BIOS Motherboards

  1. No beep at all - this means your motherboard is dead, either due to a defective or underpowered power supply, poorly seated CPU or RAM, or a dead-on-arrival board
  2. One beep - board is working fine
  3. One long beep then machine shuts down - faulty, improperly installed or missing CPU
  4. 1 short(Beep) System booting is normally
  5. 2 short(Beep) CMOS setting error
  6. 1 long - 1 short(Beep) DRAM ERROR
  7. 1 long - 2 short(Beep) Display card or monitor connected error
  8. 1 long - 3 short(Beep) Keyboard Error
  9. 1 long - 9 short(Beep) ROM Error
  10. Long(Beep) continuous DRAM isn't inserted correctly
  11. Short(Beep) continuous POWER supply has a problem
  12. A two-tone siren, generally caused by overheating or out of specification voltages
  13. Four beeps then machine shuts down. This is because this version of the BIOS will shut down your machine if no fan tachometer signal is detected on the fan header. Make sure you attach a fan to the FAN1 or FAN4 header or clear CMOS to reset to default (no checking).

Beeps on startup but no video and continues to have long beeps with no video

Check the the cpu, ram and video card are seated properly. If they all are, then the board is defective and will need to be replaced.

1. No beep - no reaction, the mother board is dead, power supply problem, processor and or ram problem.
2. 1beep - board is working fine.
3. One long beep then it shuts down - cpu problem, your processor is not working or missing.
4. 1short beep - system boots normally
5. 2short beeps - CMOS setting error.
6. 1long 1short beep - dram error
7. 1long 2 short beep - video card or monitor not connected

Beeps, keys not working, touchpad dont work

That is an indication that the "s" key is stuck on your keyboard. (permanently pressed down...or making contact).
Try to manually move it out of its current state, even though it doesn't seem to be stuck.
That will solve your problem.

Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 short beep codes on cold boot. Tried reseating RAM, didn't help. system runs fine after beeping stops

Using the manual for the Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 MB. Go to page 71 & you'll see bios beep codes for your board: AWARD BIOS Beep Codes 1 short: System boots successfully 2 short: CMOS setting error 1 long 1 short: DRAM or M/B error 1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card error 1 long 3 short: Keyboard error 1 long 9 short: BIOS ROM error Continuous long beeps: DRAM error Continuous short beeps: Power error As you can see there isn't a code for three short beeps. When you boot your system try to pause your boot up screen. See if the bios is reporting the correct total of memory in your system. Bios codes from the link below. http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm#05 3 beeps for the AMI bios code reports Base 64K RAM failure. You can test your memory. Go to memtest.org Scroll down the site to just under the three screen shots. Download Memtest86+ V2.11 You have a choice in making a bootable floppy disk or a bootable CD-ROM disk. Once completed you boot your system to the testing program. Memtest will check your system memory. This should help. Thanks for using FixYa! Mike

Tecra M2 doesn't boot is it a processor problem?

given the symptoms, it points to motherboard.. if it was processor, video or ram. it wouldnt boot at all and you'd just get error beeps from your laptop. i'd first try resetting the bios, by removing the bios battery for 30 min, then putting it back in. if that doesnt work try changing it out, usually costs under 8 bucks. if that doesnt work then I would change out the motherboard, if its cost effective.

Dell webpc,,2 short beeps and keyboard error

Hi,
i can help you with the Post-Code Beeps.
AMI Bios= 2 Beeps. Parity error In First 64k Ram. ( reseat Memory ) Post Failure 1 or more Of the Hardware test Have Failed.
IBM Bios= 2 short Beeps. Post Error ( Memory Possibility ) review screen for details.
AWARD Bios Codes = 2 Short Beeps. Any Non-Fatal Error. Enter CMOS setup to reset.
I,d go for Memory ( RAM ) But first enter bios setup Usually F2 Or Delete escape et,c. Reset to defaults, and see if that solves your Problem.
