Older Gateway system not showing video...

Hello,

Newbie here...I got this Gateway FLEXATXSTC BRO Essential from a friend cause he didn't know what to do with it due to it not working. I offered to take a look at it. While troubleshooting it, I noticed that the system powers on (constant orange light) , the power supply fan is running...I tried powering on with different RAM, but to no avail...I also tried re-seatting everything (plugs, cables, cords, etc) and nothing either.

Again, I am a rookie with some training, but never really used it.Now,I would like to start using it again with this inoperable (for now)Gateway system.

Any direction would be greatly appreciated! Mahalo!

I have a gateway flexatxstc bro essential 700c tower, or an os whatever u want to call it, and I can't remember my password to get into at all, I don't know what to do to reset it or anything to be able to...

I would like to introduce Windows Password Reset Tool . it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista and windows 7. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password. I Wrote it to an 1GB USB flash drive do this. Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm. You can download it from http://www.windows7password.net . It also supports cd/dvd

How can I get into my gateway flexatxstc bro 700c computer tower

The original PC instructions should explain that (some have screws, and others have a way of sliding the side panel in a way that allows the panel to be unclipped from clips that may not be readily viewable.

I have a Gateway computer (flexatxstc bro essential 566c) to which I would like to add/update the memory. I know it is very old, but is that possible?

Yes, it is possible. Go to
www.4allmemory.com and they will list your needed memory, and the cost. Replcing it is very easy. Your computer takes the 'PC100' SDRAM module. and runs about $23 per 256mb with a maximum of 512mb.
Hope this helps

Windows me to windows xp pro sp3...no sound

Take the modem out. Then start the computer,go to the device manager and start at the top of the list and right click and update drivers for each item Including the bus, then restart.

Also,If you don't really need dial up,Leave the modem out.
If you do need it,Wait until you have updated all the system devices and then put it back in.

What ram does a Gateway flexatxstc bro essential 733 take and how

There is an easy way, and there is a hard way. The easy way requires you to get access to her computer and download Everest Home Edition. After installing the application open it up and find out if you're currently using SDRAM, DDR, DDR2, or something else. You will have to match the memory in order for it to work together.

Now for the hard way. You will need to find a way to open the computer to take a peek inside. Pop out the memory stick(s) by opening the pins holding the memory shown in this picture. Afterward look at the bottom of the memory stick(s). You're looking for the noticeable difference between DDR and SDR as depicted here.

Once again, you will need to match the memory types to ensure that they will work together. Also, please don't insert an odd (3, 5, 7, etc...) number of memory sticks (1 stick being the exception), some motherboards can't handle it.

20.0 GB

You can go as big as you want. just make sure you get a hard drive that is compatible.

one quick thing, i do not understand what "i can not get it to scan anymore it freezes up" means. If you can access windows at all the hard drive isnt dead. It may be on its way out though. So go buy a new hard drive the GB size doesnt matter, you can put what ever size in it that you want.

Good luck, hope this fixedya

Gateway Flexatxstc BRO Essential 700c

884f672.jpgBasically in the way of wiring if it fits it goes there. There is nothing to jam. The picture shows PS/2 ports the one closest to the edge is the keyboard port the one next to it is for mice. Your best bet for an operating system is to purchase XP Home, you may need to upgrade your memory to keep up with XP. But price it out first it might not be cost effective.
