Not cooling at all? or other symtoms that can help us get you going. Can you make sure the refrigerator is listed as Kenmore
Here are some examples of model numbers for this appliance: 106.8782070, 596.58692890, 119.909851, 119.3101279, 198.887482, 253.835123 • Inside the refrigerator or freezer, on the upper left or right side wall • Behind the lower crisper drawer • Behind the lower toe kick-plate • On the face frame of the refrigerator body Can you help locate these numbers so I can assist you with the drawing of that door? TKS,Sea Breeze

I would check to make sure the compressor is in fact working (people sometimes mistake the condenser fan being on for the compressor, which makes an almost dieseling sound). The indoor fan is a separate circuit from the compressor.
make sure radiator and or condensor fins are not restricted with dirt , bugs etc. poor airflow across the condensor. high side pressure could rise too high causing compressor to cycle off and on and not cool the freon properly.not sure what you mean when you say you play with the relay and it comes on. compressor or the fan? pull the relay and look at the female pins and make sure they are not spread open too wide. is the check engine lamp on? sometimes computers will disable ac for some other faults. im not sure if you mean the compressor is turning off and staying off, or just not cooling well due to fan problem. if its turning off it could be a control head problem or the pcm disabling it for another reason. or if you are manipulating the relay then compressor kicks on you may have a bad relay. hope this helps
there is a capacitor connected to the compressor and one connected to the fan ... the capacitors are used to start both (called starting capacitor) ...if its bad then the compressor/fan may buz but not start ..it will kick out once it gets hot .. that thermal cutout will reset when it cools down ... the capacitor may be a dual unit .. that is, two capacitors in one case (one for fan, one for compressor) ... you could have a frozen compressor or bad bearings in the fan but typically its just the capacitor thats bad (make sure the fan turns freely) ... follow wires coming out of the compressor and fan .. some will go to the capacitor ...thats a metal part (usually a rounded rectangular shape about 4 inches) .. the 3 or 4 wires just plug into the capacitor .. replace with the same value (microfarads and voltage) or get an exact replacement using its part number ... mark what wires go where .. make sure power is off befor servicing ..
Pull the refrig out , and remove the bottom panel covering the compressor , and make sure the fan , cooling the compressor , is working . The blade could have an obstruction . If the fan isn't turning , replace the fan motor . Also , make sure the bottom coils are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc .
Pull the refrig out , and remove the back panel . Is the compressor running ? Is it hot ? Is the fan cooling the compressor , running ? If the compressor is not running , the piece on the side , with 2 or 3 wires going to it , is bad . If the fan is not running , replace the fan motor . The part number for the compressor piece ( overload/relay kit ) is 12002784 . It is easily replaceable . If the compressor is running , check the square black coil box ( condensor coil ) , to make sure it is clean . Is clean , check the fan in the freezer , to make sure it is working .
First, make sure the refrigerant coils underneath the unit are not dirty. If so, clean them off.
Second, make sure the compressor (underneath the refrigerator) is running.
Third, make sure the compressor fan (underneath the refrigerator close to the compressor) is turning. This fan should always be turning when the compressor is running. It removes heat from the refrigerant coils and transfers it to the outside.
Fourth, make certain the evaporator fan (in the freezer, likely behind an access panel) is turning.
All of these conditions must be present for proper cooling.
it is a premature failure, That does indicate a bad/failiing compressor, or low oil charge, to low freon. If you trust the mechanic then go witht he compressor replacement and condensor. Unfortunately most oarts stores/shops require the condesor to be replaced for warranty purposes on compressor replacements.
have you check the freon because if freon is low it will shut off on low pressure. And what kind of Stat do you have is the Stat telling it to stop. try hot wiring it at the stat.you can also just push the contact down Manually and make sure fan come on to. check is fan turning fast enough and is it turning the right way.are the coils clogged.hope this helps
not sure which dehum yo have, but here I go! most fans are not part of the cooling system. first remove the housing where the fan is. turn the unit on and check to see if the fan is turning. if not then just wait till you hear the compressor kick in. if the compressor goes on then you do have a problem w/the fan motor and it will have to be replaced. worst comes to worst just bring it into Sears. they have techs which will let you know what the exact problem is and you can take it from there. make sure you give them the model # first, just to check if the have parts for your dehum.
