To open door I used to just pull (then pushed tight to close). Now door seems to lock (not running, washer is not on) and there is a little white plastic lever if moved to the right allows door to open. This just started, I have never before had to do this, nor have I ever seen or felt this little piece before. Did something come off that used to work "automatically"?

Pull the seal that is on the tank 1/2 way out then close the door. This will make sure the door is tight to the seal. This happens sometimes that the seal becomes flattened. I have been using this trick on Bosch dishwashers since this series came out in 1997.

if the door doesn't shut, the push buttons should not work. that way you are not running your d/w with the door open. check the door latch, as it seems to be malfunctioning. if the d/w still does not work, replace the door latch.

SOURCE: loose door handle on bosch integra ltd. dishwasher
you can loosen the inside of the door with a small torx screwdriver and lift it up far enough to get to the screw that holds the handle from the inside. I did this with mine about 1 year ago.
Turn program selector to "off". Turn
selector to Drain or Spin. Press the start / pause. Wait until program ends. Open door.
OR
Press "start / pause" until the start /
pause light flashes.
OR
First, unplug the machine
and turn off the water supply. On the lower right of the front panel is a
6" / 15mm cover. Near the bottom of this cover is a small hole. Insert a
piece of wire into this hole, and push in gently. While pushing, turn the cover clockwise, it will came off.
The door release is a narrow white plastic strip
hanging down on the right; Pull down on this strip while pushing in on the
door, the door lock will release.
Pl click if helped.
Remove the cover on the
lower right corner, you will see a white plastic pull cord. Pull the cord and
pull open the door. Don't force the door, you could damage it. If
that doesn't re-set the door lock you will need to replace the lock.
Pl click if helped.
