You might be having a DNS problem. DNS (Domain name system) is responsible for changing the website name to the address (where the website is stored). You can try openDNS (www.opendns.com) The site can be confusing so here are the instructions. 1. Go to control panel > network connections 2. Choose the connection that gives you internet, right click on it and Click properties 3. Now select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties 4. Check the box that says "Use the following DNS addresses" 5. Enter the following values (addresses) 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220
If you are able to use your messengers (like MSN, Live, Yahoo) but are not able to connect to web pages, you could be having a DNS problem.
DNS stands for Domain Name System. It's responsible for converting the website name you type to the address (in which the website is stored).
You can try openDNS
To use opendns,
1. Go to network connections in control panel
2. Select the connection that provides you internet.
3. Right click on it for properties.
4. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) (not the check box).
5. Select properties
6. Check the box that says Use the following DNS server addresses.
7. Type these values there:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
8. Click OK
If you still can't browse, it could be an instance of spyware. Try getting a different browser.

Have you contacted your ISP to get them to perform a line-check?
