I just purchased a microwave oven, model JVM1540DM1WW , and I need to find the correct number for a charcoal filter and where to purchase it.
Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your post Scott! I manage a ton of properties and worked
with www.RangeHoodsFilter.com , they were VERY helpful and gave me
discounts with quantity purchases. I order 20 then 800 range filters
for our GE models. YOU ARE right, you order by part # and it is like a
lottery if you get what you need. Quality, low cost and most
important,,,THE FILTERSFIT.
Thanks again for your post! Buyers beware of ordering by just the part
#. Measure and call them at 1-888-279-1670. One last thing, they also
sell HVAC filters too . Custom sizes for all filters. I am very happy
you saved myself a lot of time by your post.

The GE spec sheets for what is the right charcoal filter are incorrect. You will never find the right one. I have this same microwave and had same problem. I called a local appliance company and they gave me Part No. WB06X10359 and when I googled this part it was not the right dimensions. I finally found the perfect solution. Go to www.rangehoodsfilter.com (Filter Factory-TTN Inc.) and they are customing making the filter for me. I spoke to Dave this morning from Filter Facotry and he's making me one with the following dimensions - 5 7/8" x 13 1/4" x 1/4". The cost is $16.95. If this fits I will order more. The more you order, the cost per unit goes down.
You can download your owner's manual here.
For just the charcoal filter, order Part # WB02X10776, which you can order here.
Filler Panel Kits are also available
JX46WH/BL—White/Black
JX40WH—White
JX41—Black
When replacing a 36′ range hood, filler panel kits fill in the additional width to provide a custom built-in appearance.
For installation between cabinets only; not for end-of-cabinet installation. Each kit contains two 3′-wide filler panels. JX81C—Recirculating Charcoal Filter Kit (included with Model JNM1541) Filter kits are used when the microwave oven cannot be vented to the outside.
