When printing, the printer starts to feed the paper and when about 1 inch of the paper has been feed, it stops and a message on the cumputer indicates Paper Jam. Yet there is no paper jam.

On the printer screen, there are 3 pages that cycle through indicating to clear jams from 3 different locations. When I touch OK for each of these, sometimes the printer will try to print the same document again and it will go another inch before stopping. If I do this enough times sometimes it eventually prints the document.

SOURCE: paper doesn't advance through the printer

Hi, Sounds very much like the feed rollers are worn out. If you can get to them without too much trouble you can clean them up with regular rubbing alcohol and a rag which will help the paper feed. You might also want to try unpluging the printer and trying to roll the paper feed buttons by hand and seeing if a piece of paper will feed through without catching anywhere. If it does catch somewhere, then you may very well have a small piece of paper jammed in the paper path causing the jam. Good luck.

SOURCE: printer says clear paper jam. There is no paper jam.

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: When a page prints it only goes half ways and then stops and the printer says paper jam

Typically what I have seen with these printers if they do that it is because there is something blocking the path of the paper. What you can do if you are comfortable!!

Unplug the printer and lift the printer and and give it a good shake and what ever is blocking the paper will fall out if not it may loosen it enough so that when put the printer down and take a flash light and shine it down the paper feed area you will be able to see what is there and then pull it out with either a pair of needle noose pliers or your hands.

Also if you have a warranty on the printer you can just call Lexmark and they will either walk you through the same process or they will send you a new printer.

I just purchased a Lenovo desktop pc with windows 7 and microsoft office 2010 and the Lexmark e260d printer. Printer is working fine through the tray with all the software. I am having a problem...

Have you checked the cable? Or is it a wireless printer? If it has a cable, check if it didn't get damaged. If it has a display, check it for a error message. You can also check Lexmark's site if they provide information. And don't forget, google is your best friend.

The paper isnt going through

If the paper feed rollers are not clean, they may slip and cause paper feeding problems.
The problem may be alleviated by performing paper feed roller cleaning.

1. Open the Printers folder.
- For Windows XP Home Edition Click/Select "Start," "Control Panel," "Printers and Other Hardware," and "Printers and Faxes."
- For Windows XP Professional Edition Click "Start" and "Printers and Faxes."
- For Windows 2000/Me/98 Click/Select "Start," and "Settings," then "Printers."
2. Right-click the icon of the printer for paper feed roller cleaning, and select Properties from the displayed list.
3. Click the Maintenance tab and click Roller Cleaning. 4. Remove all sheets of paper from the auto sheet feeder, and click OK. 5. Confirm the message to be displayed, and click OK.
Do not try other operations until printer's operation completes.
6. When the printer's operation is completed, follow the confirmation message to load three new sheets of A4 or letter-sized plain paper in the auto sheet feeder
7. Click OK.
8. Confirm the message to be displayed, and click OK.
Do not try other operations until all the three sheets are ejected.
Memo: The printer prints nothing on those sheets.
9. When all the three sheets of the paper are ejected, paper feed roller cleaning is completed.
