Question about Akai PDP4290 42 in. EDTV-Ready Plasma Television
I also have the akai PDP4273M1 tv with power and no picture and I looked at the power supply board inside and found 1 of the FMG26S chips blown and I am looking into replacing this to see if that does it and if not do a search for SANKEN PSC10165B M and for approx 170.00 you can get a whole new power supply for it and its easy to put in..

SOURCE: No picture anymore
I found one of these at the dump with the same issue. Bought a Z sustain board for $75 , replaced it and it works great. I plan on installing some PC style cooling fans in the cabinet as heat is what destroys these sets

look the real deal from a owner of the akai. The x boards yes there are 2, go out. it is a well known issue. You probably seen the screen flicker a little before going out. Sometimes that happens for a little while, even days, then no screen, or flicker here and there at the bottom when you push the vga, av etc change button. Sadly Akai will never give you the part. They are crooks. Even under warranty your screwed.
