I need to take apart the fan to clean it out as dirt/hair/dust has made it stop working and is now making a loud noise.
I use my Targus AWE39EU cooling pad to keep my hot router ventilated. It helps and is quiet.
One of the two fans failed and t'other one started working intermittently, so I bit the bullet.
Access is easy... once you know how! (Not helped by previous supposed 'Problem Fixed' entries elsewhere.)
Remove the 2 long rubber strips on the top of the pad (NOT the 4 small rubber discs underneath the pad).
Undo the 8 small cross-head screws so revealed and carefully ease the two pad halves apart with a thin blade or jeweller's screwdriver. NB: the plastic is easily damaged.
I only had to reseat the fan wiring push connector(s) to the small power-input 'circuit' board to get the two fans running properly again, as they had worked loose. Fix in position with Blutack or glue to stop this happening again. Others may need to try soldering skills if wiring problem found.
Dust off the fan blades and pad interiors if necessary.
Push fit two halves of the pad together and replace all the screws.
Re-glue the 2 strips back in position to finish the job.
Now, maybe, you can get back to trying to solve all those Win10 BSoDs that may have been annoying you.
PS. If the so called MS 'collect info and restart' does not work and implies that you need to reload the OS, don't panic; try switching off, waiting a while, then switching back on; it's worked twice so far but the BSoDs continue and no solution in sight... but Win 11's BSoD will apparently be Black, not Blue - a huge step forward.
Is it catching on a loose connection, have you damaged the bearings? try youtube .
