Re: a/c control panal light bulb out how do i replace it...
This is not a easy fix and it does not have a bulb to illuminate it the illumination is part of a circuit board and the whole unit requires replacementand it is quite expensive, sorry

the "bulb" is usually built into the switch/knob , i've never seen one that can be replaced without getting a new knob , or the other variation is an LED behind the panel , these are also non replaceable but can be repaired if you can find an auto electrician to carry out the job
The tiny incandescent light bulb is behind the knob soldered to the circuit board, you must remove the climate control head unit and take it apart to access the knobs back light bulb on the circuit board. You can buy the replacement bulb at Radio Shack, the part number is 7219 Micro Lamp.
There should be a VERY small bulb (if this is a manual control) behind the fan speed selection knob, Pull on the knob and it should come out, and i usually get the light out using some vaccum line.
hI THEGROVE45, did you ever get this problem fixed. I have the same problem, and took it into the dealership, they told me they would have to replace the whole unit, and told me the light inside there was not a light bulb but a wand lit up with LED.
If you pull out that knob assembly that controls the drivers side heat behind it you will see little black clips that hold in the bulbs. But if you dont the bulbs are inside the controller and it will have to be disassemble to change them...
to get to these you need to remove the box above by taking out the rectangular screw cover at the back and take out the one screw. gain access to the edge of the box with a flat tool and gently pull the box clear from its clips. now the 2 retaining screws should be visible that hold the controls in place after removing these you need to pull the controls quite firmly from its clips being careful not to damage the wiring to the back. this multiplug has to be released by pressing a retaing clip on the plug itself. once removed the whole unit needs to be separated into 2 halves being careful of static, by removing the screws on the back.once inside there are grey and white bulbs, white for the illumination and grey for the buttons (heated rear window and a/c etc)
thanks i'll just have to turn the dome light on at night to see the panel whe i need to switch it... lol
