I just cannot get the panorama feature on my Olympus Stylus 840 to work. I'm using it with an Olympus brand 2GB picture xD card, which is what the manual and the Olympus website online both said it would need to take panorama pictures. I tried to search for solutions online, and I've tried all of them. I've even tried setting it to P mode and the panorama feature in my menu is still whited out. Help! Panorama feature is not working on my Olympus Stylus 840. I'm using it with an Olympus brand 1GB picture xD card (type M) as mentioned in the manual. Please some one help me!
Forget the in-pano function and use a free stitching program off the internet. When shooting panoramas, you need to be in aperature priority or manual mode so as to keep the exposure consistant, especially going into the sun or away from it in your pictures. Although this is good practice, it is not needed for a few stitch programs as they average out all the exposures and make the entire pic uniform. This works pretty good in all but the most demanding exposure swings.
