I have the noted Sanyo 36" TV. Picture & sound are perfect. Operates normally. When turned off, makes constant fast ticking sound from bottom-rear of set. Sound is not coming from speakers. If unplugged, noise stops. I have the exact same problem, and always have to unplug it. Anyone know what the issue is? Is it a Sanyo thing?

The sound you hear is the metal parts of your exhaust system and catalytic converter cooling down. Some cars are louder than others but the sound is perfectly normal.
the ticking sound is coming out from the flyback that is high voltages!!! if you on the unit is there a picture coming out? or sounds coming out from speaker?
if your could hear a slight ticking (tick-tick tick) or whining then some electronic component might have been damaged (shorted). if you have no experience repairing electronic equipments then i suggest you to send your TV to a service station!
Horizontal output transistor is shorted, caused by bad flyback
transformer. If you want to pursue the repair, please give the
service number off back......I will get part # s........T.
it's normal (if you see the instruction manual) but is hell anoying men, i need to dissconect the tv from power at nights because the ticking sound doesn't let me sleep! i hate it :(
